Your team and your responsibilities:
**Team/division description**
- Grasp, and utilise EU Direction for R&D and innovation to inform Toyota of EU state-of-art research.
- Identify, research and incubate new technology seeds to support above point by proactively engaging with relevant European stakeholders.
**Your responsibilities**
- You proactively look for the most relevant information sources, analyse, and grasp EU R&D Direction.
- You prepare visual presentations of EU R&D Direction, New Technology Seeds finding and climate change activity updates and interact with TMC with the support of a Japanese colleague.
- You utilise EU direction, TMC indications and potential link to future mobility business (mainly focused on future customer needs) to scout new technology seeds and propose collaboration projects with academia.
- You collaborate with academia experts to define and implement research projects proposals accepted by TMC.
- You manage the contractor that will be supporting your activities (assign tasks, give indications about how to do, regular review and feedback of his work).
- Proactively conduct EU climate change related investigation as indicated by TMC counterpart

Your Profile:
- You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
- Strong desire to work in a technology-driven business specializing in EU R&D and dive into a wide range of technologies (any field that can be linked to potential future mobility business).
- Curious, creative and forward thinking to link research proposals to future customer needs/ future business potential.
- Min 3 years of hands-on experience with EU Direction investigation (knowledge of EU R&D environment and funding programmes such as Horizon Europe also required)
- Ability and willingness to learn about a wide range of technologies (from AI to quantum to batteries to advanced materials), enough to grasp the technology potential, discuss with experts and make research proposals.
- Capability to collaborate with a large variety of stakeholders from specific area engineering (fuel cell, batteries, material engineering etc) to legal, A&F, patent, and business area specialists.
- Education: Minimum master’s degree in engineering or Business (MBA).
- Soft Skills:
- Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong analytical skills, understanding of complex issues, the ability to quickly absorb information, conceptual and creative problem-solving excellence.
- Exceptional implementation skills and ability to collaborate with various technology field experts.
- Proactive Team player that can take leadership for own activity and seek multi-area stakeholder’s alignment.
- Good planning, organizational skills and open for learning a wide variety of technical and business knowledge to efficiently collaborate with all stakeholders.
- First class written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a visual/ graphical, simple, logical, and impactful manner.
- Technical skills:
- Possess a good understanding of EU R&D Environment
- Data analytics: good working knowledge of relational databases and analysis tools (i.e. PowerBi)
