We are seeking a skilled General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance department within the “Accounting Direct Margin” team. Our team is responsible for managing the accounting of all direct costs and revenues, inventories, customers, and bad debts for our telecom partner in compliance with BeGaap and IFRS standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of booking direct costs, revenues, inventories, customer transactions, and bad debts by segment.
- Perform reconciliations and monthly closing of general ledger accounts linked to customer accounts.
- Explain monthly figures and variances for revenues, direct costs, inventories, and bad debts accounts.
- Engage in projects implementing new products, services, and business models.
**Daily Tasks**:
- Familiarize yourself with specific processes and products within your scope of responsibilities.
- Ensure all transactions are timely posted, reported, and correctly valued according to BGAAP, IFRS, Tax, and VAT rules.
- Participate in monthly closing activities by posting figures, producing financial reports, analyzing, and sharing conclusions on monthly variances with the Accounting Manager and other finance stakeholders.
- Perform accurate reconciliations for specific domains to provide reliable financial information on time.
- Ensure timely intercompany reconciliation.
- Assist various departments with accounting questions and requests.
- Participate in the external audit process.
- Support the Accounting Manager in new projects.
**Your Profile**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
- Well-organized and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Resilient under stress.
- Capable of working independently.
- Analytical, critical, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Fluent in English and French or English and Dutch.
- Flexible and open-minded.
- Pro-active, precise, and rigorous.
- Availability to work in the office 2 days per week.
