Global Category Manager

**Make your mark for patients**

We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and collaborative **Packaging Category Manager**to join our Internal Manufacturing Procurement Department, based in our offices in **Brussels / Braine L’Alleud, Belgium.**

**About the role**

Reporting to the Global Category Lead - Packaging, you will have responsibility for a specific spend area related to Primary and Secondary Packaging. This portfolio includes a large number of suppliers located world-wide and engaged with UCB for development, commercial and clinical manufacturing.

You will be responsible and accountable for end-to-end sourcing projects, contracting and commercial life-cycle management, and drive value creation initiatives to enhance service quality and supply. Additionally, you will support the development of the global packaging category strategy, aiming to ensure high service quality, leverage commercial opportunities, mitigate risks, promote sustainability, maintain proper oversight and optimize the Cost of Goods.

**Who you’ll work with**

You will partner closely with stakeholders from our Device, Artwork and Packaging (DAP) Department, internal and external manufacturing, as well as partnering with key suppliers.

**What you’ll do**
- Lead commercial relationship with established suppliers.
- Provide market dynamics, benchmarking, and market intelligence to support category strategy and identify potential new partners.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and deploy strategies globally, facilitated by implementation and transition plans, promote sustainability.
- Drive sourcing activities from tender to contracting, including commercial life cycle (contract amendments, pricing analysis, pricing updates etc.) and ensures data robustness in systems (SAP, Qlik, SharePoint ).
- Lead commercial negotiations.
- Deliver Master agreements and maintain an approved list of preferred suppliers.
- Ensure that partnerships with strategic vendors or within the category are well-established to achieve quality, supply resilience, value creation, and innovation targets

**Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills.**
- Master’s degree (or equivalent).
- Experience in the packaging for pharma industry is preferred.
- The ability to independently analyze data and information, to draw conclusions and propose recommendations.
- Fluent in English (oral and written); additional languages are a plus.
- Capable of operating in cross-functional, multilingual and multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and team player skills. Set challenging objectives for self and others and drive for results.
