**Function**:
As an **External Communications Expert & Dutch-Speaking Spokesperson**, you are part of the Public & Regulatory Affairs & External Relations division. You are an important ambassador for Elia Transmission Belgium and ensure that external communication is appropriate, transparent and in line with the company's strategic objectives.

You are responsible for a wide range of duties. You are in charge of corporate communications, crisis communications and the organisation and presentation of internal and external events. You are also Elia’s external communications representative on various consultation platforms, both nationally and internationally.

Your main responsibilities:

- **Strategic communication & reputation management**
- You develop and implement communication plans on strategic themes, projects and social topics. These plans go beyond press communications and also include digital, social and public-facing communications;
- You contribute to Elia's external positioning in line with the company's corporate strategy and social role;You strengthen Elia's reputation as a reliable, credible and socially-committed player in the energy transition.
**Spokesperson & media relations**
- You are the first point of contact for Dutch-language media and provide interviews, statements and media briefings;You follow current events and anticipate communications that are relevant to Elia. You respond proactively to opportunities and risks in the media.
**Internal collaboration & crisis communication**
- You work closely with internal stakeholders and other communication services within Elia Group (internal communications, project communications, digital communications and 50Hertz) and ensure that communication plans are implemented correctly.You are part of the crisis team and contribute to the preparation and implementation of crisis communication.
**Content creation & storytelling**
- You are responsible for devising, planning, writing and editing various external communication materials: press releases, brochures, annual reports, newsletters, presentations, speeches, Q&As, social media posts, etc.;You translate complex technical and policy-related information into accessible and attractive messages for different target groups.
**Events & external representation**
- You coordinate and/or participate in external events like press events, stakeholder days, openings, company visits and conferences;You represent Elia on consultation platforms and in external communication networks.
**Digital & social media**
- You work with the Social Media Manager and use social media strategically, as a channel for reputation management, stakeholder communication and audience engagement;

**Your Profile**:

- You have a master’s degree in communications, public relations, political science, marketing or economics (or have equivalent experience).
- You are an experienced communications expert with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in a large corporate environment, including successful experience as a spokesperson (including audiovisual press). You are flexible and able to respond professionally to unforeseen situations or activities outside normal office hours.
- You combine strong conceptual skills with a talent for project management. You work independently and can set priorities clearly and implement them efficiently. Your strategic insight and analytical skills enable you to develop well-thought-out communication concepts that align with the broader objectives of the organisation.
- You have a perfect command of Dutch and a very good knowledge of both (spoken and written) French and English.
- You are intellectually curious and interested in the energy sector. Knowledge of the energy sector would be an advantage.You have a positive attitude and are solution and client-oriented and a team player.
