Finance Coordinator (Maternity Cover)General InformationFor one of our clients, an international company based in Belgium, we are currently looking for a Finance Coordinator to join the Finance team as part of a maternity leave replacement, until September.This role offers hands-on exposure to accounting and finance operations, with close collaboration with the Finance team and the CFO.Purpose of the RoleThe Finance Coordinator supports the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the Belgian entities. The role contributes to accurate financial operations, reporting, compliance and cash management, while ensuring alignment with internal controls and group guidelines.The position is suitable for a junior to mid-level profile with a background in finance or accounting and the willingness to grow within a structured finance environment.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Participate in day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries and bank reconciliationsSupport the closing of events, including verification of accounting files, reconciliation and cleaning of disbursement accountsAssist with internal controls (ICS) and prepare Belgian VAT declarationsSupport the preparation of documentation for foreign VAT returns in collaboration with external tax advisorsLearn and contribute to the preparation of financial statements and tax documentation, in compliance with group guidelines and legal requirementsActively support mid-year and year-end closing processes in close collaboration with the Finance Team and the CFOAssist during audits with external consultants and provide requested documentation within deadlinesSupport cash-flow forecasting, liquidity planning and funding needs in collaboration with the CFO and/or Business ControllerAct as a point of contact with banks to ensure appropriate financial facilitiesLearn, understand and use existing financial systems and tools on a daily basis (e.g. BOB 50, internal ERP tools, archiving systems)Profile & RequirementsDegree in Finance, Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experienceInitial experience in an accounting or finance role (junior to mid-level)Good understanding of basic accounting principlesAbility to work accurately, meet deadlines and collaborate within a teamStrong communication skills and willingness to learnLanguagesFrench and English required (written and spoken)Technical SkillsExperience with accounting or financial software (e.g. BOB 50 or similar) is an assetGood command of Excel and MS OfficeAbility to quickly adapt to internal financial systems and toolsContract & ConditionsContract type: Maternity leave replacementDuration: Until SeptemberSalary range: €2,700 – €2,800 gross/monthLocation: Belgium
