What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, managing, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
• Developing and maintaining robust backup, restore, monitoring, and performance tuning processes.
• Architecting database structures and implementing data synchronization mechanisms for seamless integration across systems.
• Supporting backend application development in Python, ensuring efficient and secure database connectivity.
• Integrating Python backend programs with PostgreSQL databases for advanced data processing and analysis.
• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to streamline deployment and code management.
• Contributing to the development of technical standards, guidelines, and procedures for evolving system architectures.
• Providing specialized third-line support for database and infrastructure issues within a multidisciplinary team.
• Optionally utilizing Elastic Stack for advanced monitoring and logging solutions.
• Supporting the implementation and integration of other database management systems as required.

Technical Skills

• Confirmed expertise in PostgreSQL database management, including backup, restore, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Confirmed experience in Python backend development and integration with databases.
• Confirmed mastery of Linux environments for database and application hosting.
• Confirmed experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab for code management and deployment.
• Confirmed knowledge of REST Webservices for system integration.
• Confirmed experience in data integration and synchronization across complex systems.
• Junior-level familiarity with Elastic Stack for monitoring and logging.
• Junior-level experience with Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Openshift for infrastructure automation and containerization.
• Junior-level exposure to NoSQL databases, including key-value, document, and vector databases.

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in French or Dutch (passive knowledge of the second language required; bilingual preferred).
• Working proficiency in English for technical documentation and team collaboration.

Other Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Belgium at least two days per week, with remote work flexibility as agreed with the team.
• Availability for a full-time engagement (40 hours/week) until 31/12/2026, with potential for renewal.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
