Senior Clerk of Works

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”. Job Duties Lead the full COW, ACOW & building works supervisor team; oversee all building quality supervision, including on-site construction and off-site MiC module factory building works inspection. Execute full Clerk of Works duties per ArchSD Site Administration Handbook (SAH); ensure all building works comply with Client’s Requirements, ArchSD General Specification, BSEN & site supervision codes. Vet all construction material samples & certification; cross-check all delivered goods against approved drawings & specs; secure proper storage of accepted samples. Attend & witness all mandatory tests: piling, structural concrete, steelwork, curtain wall, waterproofing, tiling, MiC air & water tightness test; maintain complete site record book. Daily inspection on setting out, formwork, reinforcement, superstructure, finishes, external works & temporary haul road; identify drawing discrepancies & defective workmanship, follow up rectification until acceptance. Monitor site labour & registered skilled workers; conduct safety & environmental inspection; attend weekly safety walk & site safety committee meetings. Compile monthly progress report, snag list, test records & concealed work inspection logs; coordinate pre-handover, handover & defects liability period inspection. Liaise with Architect, Structural Engineer, BS team, sub-contractors, utility & government departments to resolve MiC factory building interface issues. Centralise all site inspection files, test certificates & sample records; handover full supervision documentation to PM upon project completion. Supervise MiC factory architectural finishes, waterproof & joint workmanship; conduct regular off-site factory quality audit. Requirements Diploma / Higher Certificate in Building / Building Studies from HK Polytechnic / IVE or equivalent qualification. Level 2 or above for Chinese & English in HKDSE / HKCEE (Pre-2007 HKCEE Grade E (Syllabus B) accepted as equivalent). Minimum 15 years site experience, including minimum 10 years post-qualification experience serving as Clerk of Works. Must hold all 4 safety training certificates: Occupational Safety & Health Management Course Basic Accident Prevention Course Construction Industry Green Safety Card Confined Space Certified Worker Training Certificate Experience on MiC modular construction & large public housing site supervision is a strong advantage. Fluent Cantonese, competent written & spoken English for technical site reports. Available for overtime, night concrete inspection & regular overseas MiC factory visits.
