Network and Systems Engineer
Bruges area, Belgium | Hybrid (4 days office, 1 day remote) |
Full-time, permanent
Mason Dynamics is supporting an established software company with a new hire for their customer-facing IT team.
The company
Our client builds business management software for manufacturers in the print and packaging sector. They've been around for over 30 years, have around 100 people, and serve roughly 400 customers across Europe, North America and beyond. The business is growing and investing in a new cloud platform.
The role
You'll join a small, experienced team of systems engineers, reporting to the Systems Engineering team lead. The job splits between two things:
Customer support
- First-line remote support for international customers through a ticketing system
- Diagnosing and fixing IT issues remotely, escalating when needed
Projects and technical work
- Infrastructure and implementation projects on customer sites
- Helping customers through cloud migrations
- Managing virtual server environments on customer platforms
- Installing, configuring and maintaining the company's software using checklists and automation tools
- Working with other teams to improve the customer experience, and keeping clear documentation and status updates
It suits someone who likes the variety of support work but wants to get stuck into projects too, and who takes ownership of a ticket or task through to the end.
What you'll need
- A bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in IT support or systems engineering
- Fluent Dutch and English, spoken and written (French or another language is a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, self-directed approach
- Good with people, as you'll be dealing directly with customers in different countries
Nice to have
- Virtualisation: ESXi, Hyper-V, Proxmox, Docker
- Cloud: Azure, AWS
- Automation and IaC: Ansible, Jenkins, Git, APIs
- SQL Server
- Windows Server (RDS, PowerShell) or Linux (Debian, Rocky Linux, Bash)
- Networking: TCP/IP, VPN, NAT, firewalls, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN
- Office 365 and SMTP
- Hardware: servers, printers, Wi-Fi scanners
What's on offer
- Competitive salary and benefits
- Hybrid working with one remote day a week
- A mix of support and project work with real autonomy
- Exposure to international customers and modern infrastructure, including cloud migration projects
- A supportive team with weekly knowledge sharing and room to grow
This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic company.
