Voor een internationaal actief Belgisch engineeringbedrijf zoeken wij een "Head of Engineering-Power Solutions".
Onze opdrachtgever biedt totaaloplossingen zowel in de markt van het omzetten en verzekeren van elektrische installaties als deze van geprefabriceerde datacenters, modulaire utiliteitsplatforms samengesteld uit IT-modules en facilitaire modules.
Werkinhoud en hoofdtaken
De "Head of Engineering-Power Solutions" is verantwoordelijk voor het plannen, organiseren, leiden, coördineren en controleren van de ‘end-to-end’ engineeringactiviteiten, dit omhelst zowel het procesmatige- als het teambeheer. Hij/Zij staat daarbij ook in voor een vlotte en efficiënte samenwerking tussen de engineering- en alle andere afdelingen.
Zeker in een eerste fase zal de focus vooral liggen op de interne processen; deze moeten meer solide en ‘future proof’ verder worden ontwikkeld, gechallengd en gedocumenteerd.
Hij/zij stuurt zowel ‘managerial als operational’ rechtstreeks 6 à 7 engineers (incl. industrial designers) aan, waarschijnlijk zal in de toekomst dit aantal medewerkers verder toenemen.
Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden
- Het uithangbord zijn van de engineeringafdeling en hierbij de nodige ondersteuning aan de ingenieurs en andere medewerkers binnen de afdeling voorzien
- Verantwoordelijk zijn voor de prestaties van het team, de verdere ontwikkeling en de loopbaangroei
- Leiden en coachen van het engineering team door middel van adviseren, het bewaken van de voortgang en het bieden van ondersteuning waar nodig
- Garanderen van een rendabele werking van de afdeling: verantwoordelijk voor de organisatie van de engineering inspanningen die worden gevraagd voor de levering van producten en/of oplossingen
- Contactpersoon zijn voor de technische verantwoordelijken bij partners
- Ondersteunen type keuringen (CE, AREI, EN-normen) van toestellen/installaties
- Focussen op een continue organisatieverbetering: bestaande processen onder de loep nemen; continue verbetering en optimalisatie vormen daarbij de rode draad
- Ontwikkelen, documenteren en opleiden tot best practices en methodieken op het gebied van engineering
- Identificeren en verwijderen van “road blocks” voor het team
- Zorgen voor een goede communicatie en kennisdeling binnen de gehele engineeringafdeling
- Bewaken van een kwalitatieve oplevering van projecten in nauwe samenwerking met de project managers
- Bij de opstart van grote projecten meewerken aan de conceptuele design en het opmaken van technische specificaties waarmee het team aan de slag mee moet
- Toezien op de toepassing van veiligheids-, beveiligings- en kwaliteitsnormen
- Betrokken zijn bij evaluaties en keuzes van leveranciers
Profiel kenmerken
Ervaring en opleiding:
- Master in Engineering (electronica- elektriciteit) – Industrieel of Burgerlijk ingenieur of gelijkwaardig
- Beschikken over een relevant track record als manager in een gelijkaardige managementfunctie en binnen een gelijkaardige engineering-omgeving
- Technische expertise in en praktische kennis van meerdere producten en technologieën en samenbouw zoals elektrische installaties (ALSB, UPS, transformatoren, DC voedingen), koeling, branddetectie en preventie, security en monitoring
- Goed begrip van end-to-end processen in de productie en de business
- Talenkennis: NL/FR en Engels, zowel geschreven als gesproken
- Kennis van Microsoft Office 365 tools en design en configuratie software
- Een voortdurende interesse voor het vakgebied vertonen en zich willen bijscholen
- Relevante organisatorische en probleemoplossende vaardigheden
- Een efficiënte communicator die zijn/haar team positief kan motiveren
- Vertrouwd zijn met (de tools van) risicomanagement;
- Besluitvaardigheid, actie- en resultaatgerichtheid;
- Een aangename en inspirerende persoonlijkheid;
