Freelance Opportunity – Head of Network (Brussels)On-site: 1 day/week | Remote: 4 days/weekStart: ASAP | Duration: Long-term missionLocation: BrusselsWe are supporting one of our most prestigious clients in their search for an experienced Head of Network to take ownership of their network strategy, governance, and operations across a complex, enterprise-level environment. Role OverviewAs the Head of Network, you will lead the design, evolution, and oversight of the organisation's network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring performance, security, scalability, and future-proof architecture while guiding both internal teams and external providers.This role blends strategic leadership with high-level technical expertise. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and play a key role in steering the network roadmap for the coming years. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement the network strategy, standards, and roadmapsOversee network operations, performance, and security across multiple sitesManage and coordinate external service providersDrive continuous improvement, automation, and modernisation initiativesEnsure compliance with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity frameworksProvide leadership and technical guidance to network teamsReport to senior management on KPIs, risks, and future requirements Required Skills & Experience10+ years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or infrastructure managementStrong leadership background and experience managing teams or vendorsProven expertise with enterprise networking: routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN, LAN/WANSolid understanding of network security principlesExperience working in large or complex organisationsFluent in English; French or Dutch is a plusBased in Belgium or able to be on-site in Brussels one day per week What We OfferA high-visibility role within an internationally recognised organisationLong-term engagement on a freelance basisFlexible schedule: 1 day/week on-site, 4 days remote900-1000 euros a dayOpportunity to shape and influence a major network transformation
