Position Overview:
As the Senior Technical Business Analyst for the API Centre of Excellence (CoE), you act as the key interface between business and IT stakeholders and the API CoE IT team. The API CoE plays a crucial role in enabling the effective development and management of APIs within the organization. It is responsible for establishing standards and guidelines, providing development libraries and project templates, and offering tools to ensure an efficient API development lifecycle. The team acts as the expert and guardian of principles, standards, and guidelines. The API CoE is the central body to ensure that the API Ecosystem evolves to the expected level of maturity to serve both internal and external clients.
In your role, you understand the business and technical drivers behind operational, functional, tactical, or strategic API initiatives and the added value these bring to the organization. You are knowledgeable about the governance and the lifecycle of APIs, API management systems, API developer portal, and API security. You reflect this by proposing expert advice and counsel for the definition of solutions to manage the API lifecycle.
You lead technical, functional, and non-functional requirements analysis specifically tailored to the API CoE's needs. Your role is to ensure that the roadmap & solutions in the API ecosystem align with organizational goals, promoting best practices in API design and implementation, and fostering innovation within the team. You stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging standards in API development to keep the API CoE at the cutting edge of the industry.
What you'll do:
- Act as the primary interface between IT teams and specific business/functional areas.
- Lead the business scope definition of projects, interacting with the sponsor/customer to determine the strategy for the proposal and evaluate feasibility.
- Understand and assess a client’s business operations, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending appropriate business solutions. Ensure proper translation of business requirements and processes into structured requirements documentation that satisfy the client’s constraints and objectives.
- Elicit business functional and non-functional requirements and create business process diagrams using enterprise standard methodologies.
- Facilitate the implementation and deployment of system changes to internal and external stakeholders by providing them with support, advice, and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Be the guardian, on behalf of the sponsor, of the project business scope and highlight and control deviations from that scope.
- Support IT colleagues through the whole project development process, including testing and deployment phases.
- Contribute to the development of business cases and perform risks and impacts analysis, engaging a wide range of stakeholders within business and IT.
- Work and think at a high level with experience in a specific functional business environment and related IT systems.
