🚀 Senior Business / Functional Analyst – Onsite BrusselsLocation: Brussels (Onsite – minimum 3 days/week, more if required)Seniority: SeniorContract type: Long-term projectEligibility: EU/NATO SECRET clearance required💡 About WISR HUBWISR HUB connects businesses with the world’s top tech consultants in Cybersecurity, Cloud, DevSecOps, Data & AI.We partner with medium to large organizations to scale digital teams quickly and securely.Our services include tailored consulting matchmaking, on-demand sourcing for urgent projects, and full management of contracts, compliance, and onboarding.We believe in Smart Matching, Sharp Talent, and Strong Delivery, ensuring the right expert is delivered at the right time.🎯 Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Business / Functional Analyst to support a high-security information systems environment within a large international organisation operating in the defence and security domain.Although the role is contracted as a Business Analyst, the client is explicitly seeking a strong Functional Analyst profile, closely aligned with technical teams, system design, and functional specifications.⚠️ Business Architect or purely strategic profiles are NOT suitable for this role.The consultant will act as a key interface between business stakeholders, programme management, architects, and technical teams, contributing to the analysis, design, validation, and evolution of secure, mission-critical systems.A substantial onsite presence in Brussels is required.⚙️ ResponsibilitiesFunctional & Business AnalysisPerform gap analysis and propose concrete functional and solution-oriented recommendations.Analyse existing systems and identify areas of improvement.Capture, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.Focus on functional software requirements rather than high-level strategy.Oversee solution delivery to ensure compliance with agreed specifications.Validate delivered functionalities against requirements.Documentation & DeliverablesProduce high-quality analysis and functional documentation, including (non-exhaustive):Business Requirements Document (BRD)Functional Requirements Document (FRD)Use cases and user storiesProcess flows / swimlane diagramsData models (entities, relationships, attributes)Wireframes / mockups (when relevant)Test cases and validation scenariosTraceability matrixGap analysis & impact analysis documentsTechnical user manuals and system configuration documentsCollaboration & DeliveryAct as a bridge between business and technical audiences.Participate in technical working groups, SCRUM ceremonies, and project meetings.Support business testing and validation phases.Communicate clearly with architects, developers, project managers, and stakeholders.Apply high-quality standards and structured methodologies.🧠 Required SkillsMandatoryMinimum 7 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Analyst.Experience in defence, security, government, or international institutional environments.Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts.Good knowledge of information systems, databases (DBMS, SQL, ETL concepts).Proven experience with functional analysis and modelling techniques.Strong knowledge of BPMN and/or UML.Strong analytical and investigation skills.Excellent capacity to write clear, structured, and high-quality functional analysis.Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.Excellent knowledge of MS Office.☝️Nice to have Experience with secure communications and/or cryptography-related systems.Prior experience in international or institutional environments.Business Analysis certification (IIBA, PMI-PBA) is a plus.Knowledge of Agile / hybrid delivery frameworks.Knowledge of French.👤 ProfileEU/NATO SECRET clearance required or security clearable (can be requested prior to onboarding).Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree is a plus).Fluent English (C1–C2) mandatory; French is an asset.Willing and able to work onsite in Brussels at least 3 days/week.🌍 Why JoinContribute to high-impact, security-sensitive IT programmes.Work on mission-critical systems in a highly structured environment.Play a key role at the intersection of business needs and technical delivery.Long-term engagement with strong continuity and visibility.Collaborate with experienced experts in defence, security, and systems engineering.📩 Interested?Apply now or reach out to sales@wisrhub.com to learn more.
