Head of Battery Storage Europe Platform

We are recruiting a motivated and creative individual to strengthen our team.  SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. We aim to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system within resilient and diversified solar PV supply chains. We are an award-winning association, including for best association and best team, and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries across the PV value chain. We produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.   This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of battery storage in Europe, influence EU policy, and work closely with leading solar and storage companies, and deliver on the ambition to accelerate battery storage deployment in Europe by a factor 10.  Job responsibilities Reporting to the CEO and Deputy CEO, you will lead SolarPower Europe’s activities on battery storage, and in particular the Battery Storage Europe Platform, including:  Policy Leadership: Lead the Battery Storage Europe Platform’s  advocacy efforts on battery storage, covering EU law and regulatory frameworks.  Knowledge Development & Content creation: Build comprehensive knowledge on the battery value chain in Europe, including laws, policies, and technical insights and feed into the databaseDevelop materials, presentations and communication material, in collaboration with internal teams.  Visibility and Outreach: Organize dedicated events and webinars to raise awareness and visibility of battery storage topics. This also includes managing the dedicated website in coordination with the events and communications team. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with EU institutions, national ministries, industry associations, and key stakeholders in the battery storage and energy sectors. Business Development: Support member recruitment and retention through strategic engagement and value delivery and help further develop partnerships. Profile  The ideal candidate has the following professional profile:  A Master’s degree in Energy, Law, Applied Sciences, International Relations, or a related field. At least 10  years of experience in EU advocacy, preferably in energy, sustainability or trade. Proven knowledge of the battery storage sector, including EU and national market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and technical challenges. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills in writing, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement. Ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects and deliver results. Proficiency in English (written and oral); other EU languages are a plus.  Our offer A permanent Belgian contract with a competitive remuneration package; Employee benefits paid by SolarPower Europe make this offer even more attractive: public transportation allowance, work-from-home allowance, dental and hospitalisation insurance, and lunch vouchers. Diversity Equity & Inclusion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are at the heart of our mission to ensure that solar is at the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system.  The more diverse our team, the more unique perspectives and ideas we can share to move this mission forward.
