Mission

As a Technology Strategist within Proximus' Digital IT & Transformation department, your primary mission is to advise Proximus' management in making technology choices. Your guidance will focus on synergies and decisions that are crucial for ensuring that our technology landscape aligns with Proximus' long-term international and local strategic goals as well as business objectives.

To achieve this, your strategic compass – based on both internal knowledge and external industry insights - will serve as the foundation. It provides the essential building blocks and criteria of the strategic roadmap that will drive the next transformation initiatives:

  1. Streamlining and Modernizing Proximus IT Infrastructure: You'll contribute to making our IT systems more efficient and effective.
  2. Transitioning to a Software-Based Network Model: This shift will enhance flexibility and scalability.
  3. Driving Digitalization Efforts: You'll play a central role in Proximus' digital transformation journey.
  4. Selecting First-Class Global Partners and Solutions: Your expertise will guide us toward optimal collaborations and technologies.

In summary, your role is critical to shaping Proximus technological future and fostering innovation at scale.

What will you do?

  1. You lead strategic files and seek technology synergies between international and local entities and make recommendations based on identified business opportunities and the latest technological developments.
  2. You act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and senior management around the world and address critical interfaces between business, technology and operations.
  3. You analyse industry landscapes, global trends, emerging technologies, economic factors, and social dynamics in various telco/techco domains and regions.
  4. You focus on key trends like AI, cloud computing, sovereign cloud, international sourcing, global operating models, resilient architecture, network softwarisation, and IoT.
  5. You translate Proximus' business strategy, customer needs, problem statements, evaluations of IT applications and systems into concrete business capability needs.
  6. You provide transformation plans and practical roadmaps for implementing digital, IT, or cloud strategies across diverse markets.
  7. You lead key innovation projects from concept to first prototype and prepare for subsequent industrialization.
  8. You model and streamline End-to-End processes and workflows with data-driven insights to improve efficiency, enhance quality and safety, and build a more customer-centric organization on an international scale.
  9. You mentor colleagues and foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development across borders based on industry best practices and policies.
  10. You present Proximus at innovation workshops and actively participate in professional forums and events.

Your Profile

  1. Master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field with a strong academic record.
  2. 5-10 years of relevant work experience in strategic roles, preferably in management consulting within a large company.
  3. Affinity with sourcing and partnerships and thorough knowledge of the ever-evolving landscape of software, network, and ICT technologies.
  4. Deep strategic understanding and analytical ability to break down issues, analyze data and complex situations, identify patterns, and make logical conclusions and informed long-term decisions.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills, adept at delivering clear and engaging storytelling to diverse audiences in a multicultural environment.
  6. Fluent (spoken and written) English, Dutch, and French.
  7. Strong team player who demonstrates ownership by working independently on key activities and effectively manages others to achieve shared goals within our Agile operating model.
  8. Proactive, 'can do' mindset, agile and resilient in a fast-paced environment, constantly striving for knowledge growth.
