Customer:Our client is a resource- and technology-based company that develops, produces and markets worldwide a broad range of refractories, metallurgical wire and Laser Applications for the steel and nonferrous Industry. The company is a world leader in its business and differentiates itself through constant development of products and services.About the position:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Manager Sales & Marketing to lead commercial operations in Belgium and France. This role combines strategic account leadership, business development, and team management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the steel or refractory industry, a hands-on approach to sales, and the leadership maturity to potentially succeed the current Regional Director within a few years.Key Accountabilities:• Full P&L responsibility for Belgium and France.• Lead and grow key customer relationships, particularly with major steel producers.• Drive business development in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and non-ferrous markets.• Manage and support a team of 6 technical service professionals.• Develop and execute annual sales, marketing, and budget plans.• Coordinate with R&D teams to tailor product trials and solutions for local clients.• Ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction across both countries.• Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategy accordingly.• Support recruitment and team development initiatives.Preconditions:• University degree in engineering, business, or related field.• Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or service management, ideally in the steel, refractory, or nonferrous metals industries.• Proven track record in key account development and solution-based selling.• Technical understanding of refractory applications and value drivers preferred.• Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus).• Willingness to travel frequently across Belgium, France, and occasionally to Germany and Ireland• High level of autonomy, strategic thinking, and resilience in a competitive marketPersonal Attributes:• Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, "hunter" approach.• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.• Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.• Customer-focused with a pragmatic and results-driven attitude.• Comfortable working in a flat hierarchy and international environment.Benefits:• Permanent employment contract.• Attractive performance bonus.• Company car.• Flexible working setup (home office and/or office presence).• Flat hierarchies and transparent communication.• Customized training and development opportunities.• High-impact role with clear succession potential.• International and collaborative team culture.
