Manager – LCA & SustainabilityLocation: Brussels, Belgium | Hybrid (2+ days on-site)I am partnering with a leading global industry association to find a Manager – LCA & Sustainability for their Brussels office. This is a senior-level role with a strong technical focus — roughly 80% life cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon footprinting, with a smaller regulatory dimension (e.g. understanding the impact of policies like CBAM on member companies).This position is perfect for someone who thrives in technical work — interpreting and updating LCA models, delivering high-quality data and insights, and shaping how sustainability is understood across a global value chain (nickel, stainless steel, batteries, automotive, electronics, etc.). You'll work in a highly collaborative environment, reporting directly one of the senior staff members.What You'll DoLead development, launch, and management of LCA-related activities (life cycle data, material flows, recycling rates, socio-economic data)Oversee environmental LCA calculations in line with ISO 14040/44, ISO 14067, GHG Protocol, European Commission PEF, and Global Battery Alliance rulebooksInterpret results and translate complex findings into actionable insights for members, regulators, downstream users, and standardisation bodiesContribute to industry guidance, protocols, and methodology development affecting nickel and its downstream sectorsCollaborate with Brussels colleagues (science, policy, comms, market development) and international officesRepresent the organisation in external forums and technical discussionsWhat We're Looking ForUniversity degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field10+ years' experience in life cycle management, carbon accounting, and LCA modellingExpertise with GaBi, SimaPro, or OpenLCA, and a strong grasp of LCA/GHG standardsAbility to turn complex data into clear recommendations and communicate effectively with stakeholdersIndustrial experience preferred (consulting or academic backgrounds also considered if technically strong)Collaborative mindset and ability to work with a global teamWillingness to be office-based at least 2 days per week and travel internationally (~2 trips per year)What's on OfferBase salary around €100,00010–15% bonus, eco vouchers, meal vouchers, and health & wellness budget29 days annual leave (plus additional seniority days after 5/10/15 years)Flexible hybrid work arrangement with a well-connected officeOpportunity to take ownership of technical LCA projects and grow into wider advocacy workWhy This Role MattersThis is not a generic sustainability role — it's a chance to be the technical expert driving life cycle strategy and shaping how sustainability frameworks apply to an entire global industry.
