A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Research and Advisory business, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional, and/or global levels. Using exceptional research and analytical skills, a Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to mission critical priorities. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day. They engage via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.This analyst role sits within Gartner’s CIO and Industries Research, Government and Education Practice. The analyst will support CIOs and other technology executives in accelerating national defense modernization and innovation. As geopolitical uncertainties and disruptive forces impact defense organizations and their allies and partners, this role will focus on the use of emerging technologies and data to support operational resilience, multi-domain integration and interoperability, and workforce readiness.What You Will DoTrack European and global market trends, relevant vendors and emerging technologies to remain ahead of the curve within changing geopolitical uncertainties and global power competition. Research the evolving role of data, data integration, and data analysis in support of military readiness and operational excellence for defense organizations in Europe, particularly with an eye towards NATO policy and practice Write evidence-based content that is easily consumed, defensible and actionable. Deliver high-quality actionable advice to an executive client audience (e.g., CIOs, program executive officers, CTOs, etc.) through a variety of form factors. Create and deliver presentations for webinars, executive briefings and other client-facing events. Build credibility as a defense market expert representing Gartner Research and Advisory Deliver outstanding sales and service support to retain and grow the Gartner business. Actively participate in ideation and research community discussions and collaborate effectively with colleagues across our research community. Identify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and Research & Advisory provide excellent service delivery. Be a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members What You’ll NeedBachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred 12+ years of relevant IT and/or program executive leadership working for or with an EMEA or NATO defense organization including its ecosystem of allies, partners, IT vendors and contractors An informed understanding of the strategic and operational challenges facing defense leaders within and across military domains (i.e., land, sea, air, space, cyber) Experience in defense operating in joint and/or combined service organizations ExtensiveWho are we?At Gartner, Inc.
