Senior MEP Cost Manager Overview The Senior MEP Cost Manager role involves working within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality cost management services across complex construction projects. The position offers exposure to a wide range of project types, opportunities for professional growth, and the ability to take ownership of key commercial responsibilities. The role supports collaborative working, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement, with a focus on building long-term, trusted relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Analyse tenders and bids with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and process (MEP) packages to ensure value for money. Support the resolution of construction disputes and loss and expense claims related to MEP installations in a transparent and professional manner. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members, supporting performance development within MEP cost management. Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and agreement of final accounts, including the assessment of MEP-related claims. Prepare cost estimates and cost plans for construction projects, with particular emphasis on MEP elements. Produce clear and timely cost reports and supporting documentation to enable informed decision-making. Contribute to the tender and procurement process, from preparation of documentation through to tender analysis and reporting. Monitor and control project expenditure, including valuations, change management, and reporting of variations within the MEP scope. Skills and Experience Significant experience in MEP cost management on large-scale and complex construction projects, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment. Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or process systems and installations. Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment. Eligibility to work in the relevant jurisdiction without sponsorship requirements.
