YOUR TASKS
- You will be working as a scientific coworker on the EUproject URBCON. The URBCON project targets the use of alkaliactivated concrete as a building material. With the focus on the metropolitan areas of Ghent, Rotterdam and Northern France, byproducts such as metallic slags and incineration ashes are used as alternative raw materials for the production of concrete. Replacing primary raw materials with byproducts could save an estimated 84 million tonnes of mineral building materials per year.
- You will help in project management.
- You will contribute to reporting and industrial implementation.
- You will be responsible for testing and dissemination of project results.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You have an academic university degree (Master in Science or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- You have a strong affinity and broad knowledge on concrete technology and structural behaviour of concrete.
- You have strong analytical/experimental skills, you are well organized, you are an excellent communicator and team player towards working in an interdisciplinary group.
- You have a strong sense of responsibility and are also able to autonomously plan and perform research tasks. You respect the predetermined milestones in research projects and are strongly motivated to succeed in scientific research.
- Your English is fluent, both in speaking and writing, including excellent presentation and scientific writing skills.
- Experience with writing scientific papers and project deliverable reports are a plus.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a contract of definite duration until 31/08/202
- Your contract will start on 15/02/2023 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master's degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
