Job Description:
The
Customs Compliance Manager leads and manages the customs processes and systems in both improvement projects of existing customers and onboarding of new customers.
Mainly diving the efficiency and profitability of the processes and making sure there is a robust structure for future growth.
This all will be done in close cooperation with the Customs Compliance manager for Belgium.Responsibilities:

Strategic:
- Responsible for delivering the overall vision, strategies, developing resources and executing the target.
- Define the path forward in close alignment with the Country manager and the management team
Operational:
- Manage and lead improvement processes and support in innovative solutions to make the process efficient and robust
- Support the teams and team leaders in solving complex situations
- Understand the complexity of international trade and ensure the proper solution is proposed
- Team player
Customer Focus:
- Support in solving the more complex customs related situations and propose the best solution from a compliance and customer point of view
- Make sure changes in local customs processes and procedures are known within the team
Innovation:
- Review processes with a critical eye and improve / make more efficient where possible
- Work with the European customs team and innovation team to come to innovative solutions where both BDP and the customers benefit from
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
years' experience in the customs area, with a minimum of - 5 years in managing teams and/or projects related to customs
- Knowledge on compliance requirements
- Able to motivate and guide people in operational and compliance tasks
- Commercial knowledge with an excellent understanding of all customs regulations, VAT legislation and fiscal representation.
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Experience in creating / designing and delivering customer facing presentations
- Build and maintain a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including customs and other government authorities
- Ability to identify areas of improvement and present root cause analysis in combination with corrective actions to the management
- Time management and prioritization skills
- Support in audit processes
