Doel van de functie

Beheer en toezicht van het Software Engineering Sub-Chapter, de (best) practices, tools en kaders binnen het Sub-Chapter ontwikkelen en ervoor zorgen dat deze binnen het Chapter worden geïmplementeerd, in overeenstemming met de organisatierichtlijnen en Development Chapter-richtlijnen. Dit alles met als doel de productteams te ondersteunen in het bereiken van functionele uitmuntendheid en het behalen van de doelstellingen van het Sub-Chapter.

Functieomschrijving

Als Sub-Chapter Lead bij Elia Group heb je een cruciale rol om de doelstellingen van je Sub-Chapter uit te voeren en af te stemmen op de overkoepelende visie en strategie van het Chapter. Je werkt nauw samen met de Chapter Lead en verschillende stakeholders binnen de organisatie, waaronder product- of projectteams, en externe partners, om de vraag en de capaciteit binnen jouw Sub-Chapter doeltreffend te beheren.

Je verantwoordelijkheden omvatten het aanwerven en mee ontwikkelen van de leden van het Sub-Chapter, hun loopbaantrajecten opstellen, zorgen voor de ontwikkeling van hun vaardigheden en prestatiebeoordelingen uitvoeren. Je hebt een sleutelrol in het garanderen dat best practices, tools en methodologieën consistent worden toegepast en gedeeld, waarbij je een omgeving van kennisdeling, leren en continue verbetering stimuleert.

Waken over de samenhang van de groep en rekening houden met de diversiteit onder de leden van het Chapter is cruciaal. Dit kan verplaatsingen inhouden tussen de sites van 50Hertz en ETB. Je beheert de activiteiten van het Sub-Chapter, waaronder de controle van de outputs en dienstverlening, en zorgt ervoor dat de juiste vaardigheden beschikbaar zijn binnen je team.

Verder coördineer je de ontwikkeling, motivatie en coaching van leden van het Chapter in overeenstemming met het HR-beleid. Je ondersteunt de Chapter Lead en je helpt bij het identificeren en implementeren van de geschikte tools en kaders binnen het Sub-Chapter. Het juiste talent aanwerven en leden van het Chapter toewijzen aan productteams op basis van hun vaardigheden en expertise valt ook onder jouw verantwoordelijkheid. Dit omvat het aanwerven van interne kandidaten en inschakelen van externe leveranciers, waarmee je zorgt voor een dynamisch en bekwaam team. Je besteedt ook 50% van je tijd aan inhoudelijk werk rond producten of projecten.

Als Sub-Chapter Lead Software Engineering speel je een sleutelrol in het bevorderen van de softwareontwikkelingscyclus binnen Elia Group. Je verantwoordelijkheden omvatten het garanderen van de continue verbetering van de processen en methodologieën rond software engineering. Je benut guilds en verzamelt feedback van projecten, producten en praktijken om de efficiëntie en kwaliteit van de softwareontwikkeling te verbeteren.

Je stelt Chapterleden in staat om de technische vereisten en effecten van productverzoeken kritisch te beoordelen en te coördineren. Dit moet ervoor zorgen dat alle ontwikkelingsinspanningen overeenstemmen met de architecturale normen en ontwerppatronen die de integriteit en strategische richting van het IT-landschap van Elia Group waarborgen. Prioriteitsconflicten gepast oplossen en de toewijzing van resources binnen het Sub-Chapter beheren, is een sleutelelement in jouw rol. Je vermogen om het evenwicht te bewaren tussen projectresultaten en deadlines is essentieel om het momentum van softwareontwikkelingsinitiatieven vast te houden.

Jouw profiel

Minimaal 5 jaar relevante ervaring in software engineering met een aantoonbaar vermogen om mensen te managen en aan te sturen, met een succesvolle achtergrond in teambuilding en technisch leiderschap. Sterke technische achtergrond met een brede kennis van praktijken in softwareontwikkeling, waaronder coderingsnormen, codereviews, build-processen, testing en operations. Ervaring in ontwikkelingspraktijken over verschillende programmeertalen en frameworks, net als ervaring met moderne ontwikkelingstools, softwaremodellen en -omgevingen (zoals CI/CD-pipelines, Git, Auto Deploy en geautomatiseerde testing-frameworks of generatieve AI voor ontwikkeling of andere toepassingen binnen softwareontwikkeling). Technische nieuwsgierigheid gekoppeld met een pragmatische en oplossingsgerichte mindset die de ontwikkeling van duurzame en innovatieve oplossingen binnen de organisatie stimuleert. Minstens 3 jaar ervaring met agile methoden binnen softwareontwikkelingsteams, met een grondig inzicht in hoe de agile principes aan te passen en te implementeren om de teamprestaties en resultaten te verbeteren. Duidelijke en doeltreffende communicatievaardigheden, het vermogen om in gesprek te gaan met technische experts en stakeholders op zowel technisch als conceptueel niveau. Sterke presentatievaardigheden, het vermogen om complexe ideeën op een begrijpelijke manier te verwoorden. Hoewel niet essentieel, is kennis en ervaring in de energie- en/of nutssector een troef. Goede beheersing van het Engels is vereist. Kennis van het Nederlands, Duits of Frans is een pluspunt.
