Fleet Control and Continental Manager.

You will manage the team of Fleet Controllers; coordinating the scheduling of Sets to diagrams with Operations, to ensure the scheduled maintenance plans are achieved without exceeding Km/Date based restrictions and coordinating with Operations and Production in the event of a restriction in-service defect, to ensure its effective rectification. You will work closely with the Maintenance Planning Manager and Scheduling Manager to ensure the continued effectiveness of fleet maintenance management. You will provide real time information management to support decision-making and supervision of the three maintenance depots.

We are looking for someone to...

  • Support Continental Maintenance Delivery Manager in operational excellence in Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure the correct allocation of Sets to Diagrams to support the delivery of the maintenance plan.
  • Ensure the diagramming of sets supports the maintenance plan and no set is assigned a route when a maintenance restriction prevents it from safely doing so.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure materials and tooling are available in the event of an unplanned or short notice depot visit.
  • Coordinate with the relevant depots and Planning in the event of an unplanned or short notice depot visit.
  • Coordinate and provision of risk/impact information between Rolling Stock and Operations in the event of running with restrictions and/or intermittent defects.
  • Coordinate with planning to ensure fleet restrictions are kept to a minimum to support optimal fleet utilisation.
  • Ensure derogation requests are raised when needed, in order to respect the SMS process and the operations delivery objectives.
  • Support the Maintenance Contract Manager to assess the performance of maintenance activities on the continent: maintenance planning, supplier management, maintenance costing/budgeting, etc.
  • Chair "monthly comities sites" to identify underlying issues impacting the delivery of sets on time and on quality at the stations.
  • Coordinate the implementation of subsequent action plans.
  • Validate changes relative to the maintenance activities with EIL, SNCF, SNCB and NS management
  • Liaise with Supply Chain team to improve parts supply for both fleets (timeliness and quality)
  • Produce relevant activity or technical reports.
  • Support the assessment of train movements performance between the depot and the station at every location.
  • Support Fleet Monitoring Mission
  • Manage and be part of the management team associated to project aiming to improve the availability of the fleet
  • Agree audit plans and implement subsequent action plans.
  • Identify potential maintenance activities that could be carry out in the continent.
  • Assist the Maintenance Contract Manager to assess the cost and value for the business.
  • Be part of the implementation of the new maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that the team members work efficiently, focus on the correct priorities and collaborates constructively.
  • Management of the Fleet Control team which includes recruitment, development, performance management and exit (Delivery and update of the CMS system, delivery of the in process check and implementation of the relevant corrective actions)
  • Make sure a strong succession plan is in place to retain the "key knowledge"
  • Suggest and/or support any change required in the organisation to meet business challenges.
  • Set and agree objectives and encourage/support them to perform (update of the objectives management system)
  • Encourage high performance and recognise achievements.
  • Act responsibly in all areas of Eurostar, taking ownership to understand and follow the company processes and polices Collect NS queries and provide suitable answers

You'll need...

  • Railway experience
  • Ability to converse both verbally and in writing in English and French
  • Knowledge of production and operations environments and processes.
  • Good communication skills, with an ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders
  • Pragmatic problem solver approach to deliver targeted goal
