One of our clients, active in the financial sector, is currently looking for a Consolidation Expert.

Description
As Consolidation Expert, you will be joining Group Accounting Service, in Finance Division.


You will be in charge of the monthly group consolidations and ensure a timely and qualitative delivery of Intercompany and intra Divisions recharge processes and leading a small team.


As part of your role:

  • You will prepare the consolidated accounts (revaluations, adjustments, eliminations,...) for the various levels of consolidation, in compliance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • You will perform analysis of the group's entities results to ensure reliability of the input data into the consolidation tool
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and group entities on accounting/consolidation issues (intercompany movements, accounting for specific transactions,...).

This will include:

  • People management (in charge of midyearly evaluation, put objectives in place, career development follow up, holidays follow up,)
  • The monthly intercompany reconciliation process aiming at matching all intercompany transactions (P&L, balance sheet and Off balance sheet) between the Group's entities
  • The identification of intercompany differences
  • The output followup, control and related reconciliations/investigations
  • The output reporting and related commentaries
  • The participation to the monthly recharging operational cycle including but not limited to Chargeback/services, HR, Facilities and Fees transactions
  • The recharge agreements setup and follow up
  • The management and followup of the various requests aiming at improving the underlying processes
  • Ensuring reconciliation of the accounts and internal controls documentation on assigned items
  • The participation to the Continuous Improvement of all consolidation and intercompany processes such as architecture upgrades, updating of related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), etc
  • The review and update of documentation of policies and procedures
  • The analysis of new/modified accounting policies
  • The support to internal and external auditors
  • The maintenance of consolidation documentation on historical events
  • The support/help to FSC

Profile

  • Good knowledge of English. French and/or Dutch is a plus
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years in an accounting function, ideally with good experience in group consolidations;
  • Excellent understanding of theoretical/practical aspects of accounting, ideally coupled with a good background in consolidation
  • Excellent analytical skills and well organised
  • Proficient user of the MS Office suite, especially Excel
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptable and able to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Good knowledge of IFRS/IAS will be an asset
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and related accounting lifecycle will be asset
