Dependant on location, contract and experience (Brussels Based salary range €2,500-€3,000 per month)

Through our organisational mission, we empower girls and young women to develop to their fullest potential.

The Europe Region works to deliver tailored services to the 41 Member Organisation's (MOs) in the region.

The small staff team work with regional volunteers and external partners to provide pan-European events, capacity building opportunities and resources.

In addition, the region acts as a conduit to implement global programmes at the national level with MOs who seek support.


Please note that the regional office offers a flexible work environment and currently operates between a co-working space in central Brussels and teleworking.

We are reviewing the options for a fixed office space in Brussels in 2023.

This role will involve some travel within Europe to support our regional events.

Job Purpose:


The overall objective is to contribute to the delivery of the Triennial Action plan alongside the staff and volunteer team.

The role will strengthen the Europe region's network of MOs and contribute to the region being a hub where all our MOs feel connected, supported and able to thrive.

In order to achieve this, the role has two key functions:

  • The postholder will ensure that support is tailored to the region's needs through data analysis and will drive more indepth partnership work with and between members where there is opportunity and need. As part of this function, they will work together with the MO relations committee lead and act as the main contact for Mos, ensuring the smooth flow of information between WAGGGS and its MOs in the Europe region.
  • As a second purpose, the post holder will work together with the Quality Guiding and Girl Scouting (QGGS) volunteer team to facilitate capacity building for the MO network in specific areas defined by needs analysis.
WAGGGS' new online platform 'Campfire' will be central to the strengthening of our network.


Additionally, this role may require you to provide high quality administrative support to the Head of Region and the Regional Committee.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first contact point for European Member Organisations (MOs), receiving their enquiries and co-ordinate the response, forwarding to relevant people and tracking the enquiry to ensure that a response is received.
  • Work alongside the Membership and Regional Support Team to ensure MOs receive high quality, appropriate services from WAGGGS.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the MO's needs and challenges and keep the Europe Regional team and global Membership and Regional Support Team updated. You will oversee the updating of the MO database to ensure all MO data and contact information is captured.
  • Process and analyse MO data from surveys on services required and evaluations on services received in the form of reports and presentations and identify resources to support MOs in order to inform future business planning.
  • Develop partnership project plans for more extensive collaboration with MOs where there is mutual opportunity and in order to benefit the wider movement.
  • Work with the Quality Guiding & Girl Scouting (QGGS) volunteer team to design and implement the annual QGGS plan. The plan will involve the facilitation of additional capacity building support based on your membership needs analysis.

The support will involve:
the co-ordination of resource development and/or webinars and the promotion of the updated Capacity Assessment Tool (CAT).

  • Work with the QGGS volunteer team to provide support to International Commissioners (ICs) who are the main ambassadors of MOs to WAGGGS. This will involve the planning and delivery of maximum one in-person event per year and aprox. two webinars per year designed to target their needs.
