Job Purpose

The Head of Finance will be responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of Straumann Group in Benelux region.

The position holder provides the leadership management and vision necessary to ensure that the country has proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

The position holder will oversee all financial functions including financial accounting, planning, controlling.


He/She will also be responsible for developing, monitoring, and evaluating overall country strategy with the management team with emphasis on top / bottom line performance, working capital and enhancing shareholder value.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Define the country financial strategy, manage financial capital, and communicate capital requirements/ implications of business decisions to Country Lead Team, Regional Finance Officer, EMEA and HQ Finance colleagues
  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all reporting requirements (financial statements, balance sheet, special analysis and information reports, etc.), and oversee financial accounting provided by Central Accounting Team.
  • Responsible for internal and external financial reporting (monthly management accounts, regular financial statements, monthly gap analysis vs. budget and prior year, monitor compliance with credit policies, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with legal reporting, accounting and tax requirements as well as corporate reporting standards (IFRS, NL and BE GAAP)
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with internal and external auditors and the finance committee; assess any changes necessary. Ensure records and systems are maintained in accordance with corporate auditing standards.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process (budget, latest estimates, forecasts) in conjunction with the Country Manager; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status, ensure adherence to budget and local organizations targets. Identify negative trends and deviations with proposed remedial actions
  • Manage organizational cash flow, forecasting and assets; verify and implement valid trade receivables procedures to accelerate cash collection & follow up on trade receivables aging
  • Implement a legally compliant, robust contracts management and financial management/ reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. Ensure controlling processes are efficient by analyzing and interpreting relevant financial information.
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual.
  • Deep expertise and understanding in direct accounting procedures such as collection and processing of bookkeeping data, updating of ledgers, verification of existing accounting procedures and implementation of new procedures, if necessary.
  • Manage, analyze introduce and improve processes and systems (SAP One/MM, IT,)
  • Establish and implement short
- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

Education/Professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a seniorlevel finance or Controlling position ideally with financial management experience in a highgrowth organization
  • Experience in working in a global matrix organization and manufacturing business
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting and other Finance related certifications (CMA/CPA, CFA etc)
  • Solid, handson experience in finance, bookkeeping, cost control
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently on complex financial models
  • Strong knowledge of the national and international reporting and accounting standards (IFRS, NL and BE GAAP) and local legal standards and requirements
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Must have handson SAP experience (BW, FI/CO). Familiarity with SAP SD/MM modules are an added advantage.
