Position summary

AXIS is a multinational insurance company with a focus on aviation insurance.


For our Claims Department we are looking for a passionate aviation claims handler to handle various losses located in countries across the world.


You will mainly be responsible for the examination, administration and resolving of claims of our different local and international insureds in the aviation sector (private and commercial operators, airlines, manufacturers, ground handlers, clubs etc).


A high quality of claims handling is critical to AXIS' reputation and is a key differentiating factor in the highly competitive insurance and reinsurance markets.

The claims handler contributes directly to AXIS' performance in this area and will be very visible.

In your job you will concentrate on the following tasks:

  • Analysing new and outstanding HULL, PERSONAL ACCIDENT, LIABILITY (General liability, Passenger liability, Corporate, Product liability) claims
  • Ensuring the timely resolution of claims in coordination with internal and external parties
  • Verifying and analysing expert and legal reports
  • Maintaining, updating and followingup on claims files
  • Proactively communicating developments and outcomes to all key internal and external stakeholders
  • Initiating claims payment
  • Ensuring overall satisfaction of the broker and client and a fair claim settlement
  • Cooperating with the Underwriting and Operations team

Essential:
Strong interest in aviation and a desire to learn about the sector

Preferred:
Education: Insurance degree or job relevant degree

Career level:
Experience in a claims department (non-life) in an insurance or

brokerage firm preferred

Necessary:
Languages: Dutch, English, French (CEFR Level C).

German proficiency would be an asset
