To reinforce our team in Groot Bijgaarden, we are seeking a:

Product Manager – Bakery Innovation

Operating within the Business Unit Bakery Improvers & mixes, you will spearhead product management initiatives for groundbreaking innovations worldwide from our base in Groot-Bijgaarden, Brussels.

Aligned with the overarching Puratos strategy and collaborating closely with business stakeholders, your role encompasses:

  • defining and executing the product strategy for each channel and market,
  • overseeing the product portfolio,
  • driving product-centric business growth,
  • leading product innovation and enhancements.

Working alongside your R&D counterpart, your collective task is to deliver business outcomes (growth & profitability) to meet annual budget targets and long-term plans.

Core Responsibilities

  • You gather, analyze, and construct market insights concerning disruptive bakery improvements from various data reservoirs, recognizing potential business impacts.
  • You devise and implement the product strategy in synchronization with Markets/Channels/Operations to align with SBU Bakery's vision, ensuring the best competitive positioning for achieving short and long-term business goals.
  • You oversee the product portfolio (enhancing profitability, pricing strategies, SKU management, benchmarking) and all facets of the marketing mix.
  • You track the sales performance indicators like volume, revenue, margin trends, and customer reach, proposing and executing corrective actions when necessary.
  • You actively contribute to business expansion efforts through customer engagements, presentations, and knowledge-sharing.
  • You craft sales and product communication tools aligned with the Group's communication strategy.
  • You steer the Innovation pipeline through the Stage & Gate process to shape future differentiators.
  • You nurture partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to foster product understanding, creating engagement across organizational tiers.
  • You maintain close ties with operations to support CAPEX discussions and optimization efforts.

Requisite Skills

  • You hold a Business or Marketing degree with 5 years of pertinent product management experience emphasizing communication. Prior exposure to an international B2C setting is advantageous.
  • You exhibit strong organizational and project management proficiencies, efficiently handling multiple projects simultaneously under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • You are data-oriented, inquisitive, digitally adept, and intrigued by the diverse consumer food cultures.
  • You are driven by success, deeply customer-centric, and intent on continuous enhancement across all operational aspects, pushing boundaries to deliver exceptional value in products, services, and innovative solutions.
  • You harbor a passion for culinary arts, endeavoring to grasp the technical intricacies of food creation to communicate effectively with R&D, tech advisors, and Operations.
  • Proficient in English, fluency in other languages is a bonus.
  • You are open to travel up to 30% of the time.
