Assistant advising on parliamentary business of BG language (IRC202328)
Introduction
Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN) Group in the European Parliament has created a temporary assistant role in its Secretariat in Brussels to support the Group’s Members of the European Parliament.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and follow up the legislative work in committees.
- Assist Members with opinions and advice.
- Assist Members particularly in the EMPL Committee.
- Draft amendments, briefing notes, voting lists, minutes, summaries, analysis, notes on relevant subjects.
- Maintain good contact and communication with other political groups and EU institutions.
- Liaise with other groups and institutions regarding ongoing files.
- Organise and follow-up meetings.
- Contribute to communication activities necessary for the Group’s smooth running.
- Provide timely support during the Group’s high‑frequency meetings and irregular working hours.
Qualifications
- National of an EU Member State.
- Full rights as a citizen with no criminal record.
- Fulfil military service obligations as required by law.
- Meet character requirements for the duties.
- Post‑secondary education or secondary education with professional experience of at least three years, or vocational training with at least eight years of professional experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Bulgarian language.
- Competent in English.
- Additional knowledge of other EU languages is desirable.
- Strong understanding of EU institutions, political systems within Member States, and the functioning of the ESN Group.
- Proven analytical and conceptual work abilities.
- Capacity for teamwork in a multinational environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency.
- Ability to travel frequently, including several days per month in Strasbourg during plenary sessions.
