In Belgium, this role is often called financial clerk, administrative accounting clerk, or accounting assistant. You support the accounting department and ensure that financial administration is processed accurately and on time. Typical tasks in Belgium Entering purchase and sales invoices Processing payments via Isabel or other banking software Following up on outstanding customers and suppliers Preparing VAT-related documents for the accountant Processing bank transactions and cash records Assisting with monthly and quarterly closings Communicating with customers/suppliers by phone or email Education & requirements (Belgium) Education level Most employers look for: Secondary education (TSO/BSO) in Accounting-Informatics, Office & Administration, Business Administration HBO5 / Associate Degree in Accounting Administration Bachelor's degree in Applied Accounting (more for assistant-accountant roles) Skills Strong numerical skills and accuracy Knowledge of Belgian VAT rules is an advantage Experience with software such as Exact Online, WinBooks, Yuki, Sage, Adsolut, Odoo Good knowledge of Dutch and English (French is a plus) What can we offer: We offer a competitive salary, including: A dynamic and international work environment Opportunities for personal and professional development Financial rewards for your hard work to reach your sales target Optional remote work on Fridays The chance to contribute to a sustainable mission and make a positive impact
