The Immigration Operations Manager with Expat Management Group (EMG) in Brussel/Belgium will report directly to the Managing Director of EMG and is responsible for daily operations of the immigration team. The main role is to manage the work (load) and processes of the consultants working on immigration cases. As such the Immigration Operations Manager will oversee the team, be responsible for coaching and developing the team members, and thinking long-term to build efficient processes both for today and for the future. The Immigration Operations Manager values continuous improvement, process and data inspection, seeking client feedback, and enjoys growing new programs and capabilities. As such (s)he would need to ensure that the team members provide high quality immigration advice in each and every case and track the teams progress.

Where possible the Immigration Operations Manager will act as a client manager and will be considered as a first point for inquiries, high level immigration advice or in case of escalations. (S)he must therefore be keen on building and maintaining client relationships.

**Responsibilities of the Immigration Operations Manager**:

- Supports and ensures that the proper staffing and skill levels are maintained, coordinates work flow, and provides all necessary resources to the client base.
- Serves as a key contributor to a staffing plan, a professional development plan and a technology based skill set for the team.
- Monitors time distribution reports, provides monthly status reports on utilization and workloads; maximizes utilization of existing resources.
- Collects and delivers performance feedback, throughout the year and in writing during (the mid
- year and) annual evaluation processes; and meets with the Managing Director to discuss same.
- Establishes clear expectations; sets direction and priorities; ensures that work levels are balanced among all staff; resolves internal staff issues in a timely manner.
- Keeps staff informed of all appropriate information; builds effective team; delegates at appropriate level.
- Leads and assists with inbound immigration case management and coordination of outbound services and projects
- Facilitates the development of the team by providing opportunities and support; provides timely feedback on work product; regularly coaches, evaluates, and recognizes employee’s performance and accomplishments; assists with skill-based training plan for new hires and existing employees; participates in and encourages professional development for all team members.
- Seeks opportunities to improve team’s efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations.
- Works directly with the Managing Director to make decisions concerning the immigration team.
- Ensures quality of work, best practices and high standards of the team.
- Participates in interviewing, hiring, orienting and training new hires.
- Administers immigration database used to prepare government filings, interacts with clients, and stores required information and documents,
- Assists with projects throughout the year including new client on-boarding, immigration database customization for specific clients etc.
- Assists in new client intake and incoming and outgoing file transfers.
- Handles confidential information with discretion.
- Will need to work in Expat Management Group's Brussels office but also work from home.
**Key skills and qualifications of an Immigration Operations Manager**:

- A minimum of 5 years of case/managerial/supervisory experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate law department setting
- Good case management aptitude and analytical skills
- Good independent judgment
- Experience in immigration law is favorably considered
- Must be motivated and energetic
- Demonstrated organizational and technical skills
- Ability to lead a team and work as a part of a team at the same time
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize and balance competing demands, tight deadlines, whilst still being able to provide a high level of customer service.
- Must be fluent in Dutch or French and English
- Must have strong communication and negotiation skills as the job is centred on communication with the client, colleagues and authorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and any other software related to Visa and Immigration Consultancy is required.
