Your team and your responsibilities:
The Legal and Compliance Team is a dynamic and internationally diverse team. It provides high quality advice to the management and the various business divisions of TME, as well as to its manufacturing and marketing affiliates in Europe. The team advises on a broad range of matters, including product liability, corporate law, IP and IT law, brand protection, competition law, contract law, GDPR, environmental law and regulatory matters.
The car industry is an exciting enviroment and is undergoing major changes related to a.o. connected cars, autonomous driving, fuel cells, electric and hybrid vehicles or mobility as a service. This requires first class legal support and offers attractive opportunities for dynamic lawyers.
**Your responsibilities**:
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to provide support to our IT&D business division. You will work closely with the business, as well as suppliers, internal and external business partners and other third parties, this regarding software, IT services, Cloud services, related professional services, etc.
The mission of the IT&D business division is to work at the heart of the organisation to allow digital/IT projects and services to be developed, all in harmony with Toyota’s transformation into a mobility company and taking into account the major changes the automotive sector is undergoing.
You will advise the IT&D business division on legal and strategic aspects of various projects. You will review and negotiate Service Framework Agreements / Service (and Software) Agreements, (Master) SaaS Agreements, SLA’s, General Terms & Conditions etc.
The automotive business is a rapidly changing environment which requires flexibility, strategic thinking and an ability to act swiftly and decisively in complex situations.
Your Profile:
- You have a Masters degree in Belgian or similar law (German, French, Spanish, etc) and around 5 years of experience in an international law firm or as an in-house counsel in an international environment;
- You have excellent knowledge of (and experience with) IT law, IT-related contracts, IP law, and general commercial law. Knowledge of GDPR is a plus.
- You have excellent analytical and contract drafting skills;
- You have excellent contract negotiation skills and are able to deal with assertive business partners;
- You are solution oriented and have good business acumen;
- You are a team player and easily build good relationships with people across the organisation;
- You have the ability to comfortably operate in a consensus based work environment and you grasp and integrate multiple stakeholder interests;
- You are comfortable functioning in an international environment with colleagues from various backgrounds and regions;
- You are curious and interested in the business and operations of the sector;
