We are ground breaking new digital technologies such as 4G/5G mobile communications, cryptography, cloud computing and big data for use in physical protection systems, and critical information systems.
Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.
**Malware Development for ICS**:
**Mission**:
The goal of this ~3 months internship is to design and develop a malware based on a dedicated PLC communication protocol:
1. Follow-up and complete the reverse engineering process of the communication protocol. (analysis, disassembly)
2. Malware Design
3. Malware implementation
4. Malware virtualization and testing in an ICS environment
5. Provide a final presentation with a Dry-run of your scenario in live in front of Thales employees.
**Profile**:
General profile of the student: Master/Bachelor in Security/Software/Telecom/ Electrical Engineer:
- Strong interest/knowledge in cybersecurity attacks
- Strong interest/knowledge in ICS/OT
- Strong interest in reverse engineering
- Knowledge of basic Web language
- Knowledge of Linux
