We are ground breaking new digital technologies such as 4G/5G mobile communications, cryptography, cloud computing and big data for use in physical protection systems, and critical information systems.
Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.
**Cyber Crisis Management Exercise**:
**Mission**:
The goal of this ~3 months internship is to build a practical exercise on cybersecurity crisis management aimed for managers, and that simulates a cyber incident and tests an organization's incident response plan. This will provide interns with experience in incident response and recovery, and give them a better understanding of how to prepare and respond to cyber threats. The internship will also cover areas such as incident response planning, employee training, and communication with stakeholders during a crisis. By the end of the internship, the interns will gain knowledge and skills on how to design and conduct cyber incident response exercises, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of incident response plans, in order to improve them.
**This will be globally organized as follows**:
1. Research current state-of-the art cyber crisis management frameworks.
2. Design a scenario
3. Develop an optimal plan based on the chosen framework
4. Build a guided exercise for management
5. Build a formal procedure to analyze and evaluate the organization’s response
6. Provide a recommendation output based on organization’s response
**Profile**:
General profile of the student: Master/Bachelor in Security/Software/Telecom/ Electrical Engineer:
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and cyber management
- Knowledge of current cyber threats
- Interest in incident response planning and incident management best practices
- Basic experience with security technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
