Our client is a fast growing company active in the **automotive sector**.

As **Chief Accounting Officer **you will be **responsible** for:

- You are responsible for the accounting of five separate legal entities within Belgium;
- Oversee accounting staff and provide guidance when needed
- Prepare and manage ledgers
- Perform **financial analysis** and **reporting to management** as needed.
- Perform **month-end accounting activities** such as reconciliations and journal entries.
- Coordinate with HQ, commercial finance teams and off-shore shared service centers to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Take the lead in both **internal and external audits**, provide necessary information, and prepare requested documentations
- Organise and document financial reports
- Ensure **financial reporting controls** are fully SOX compliant
- Prepare **bi-annual forecasts** and **yearly budgets**:

- Examine financial statements to ensure accuracy
- ** Monitor and record financial transactions** according to company policies and regulations
- In conjunction with internal Tax colleagues, ensure **full compliance** with all regulatory reporting and compliance for all Belgian tax matters
- Implement **new procedures** based on changes in regulatory laws
- Attend all necessary conferences or continuing education seminars.

The required **profile** for the **Chief Accounting Officer **position:

- You obtained a bachelor's degree in Accounting-related field;
- You have at least 7 years of experience in general accounting and 3 years in a senior position;
- You have excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of current compliance regulations
- Ability to use a variety of accounting software
- You have experience in drafting reports and preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
