The area manager deploys the company's commercial policy _on a defined network of _stores, which he monitors daily to ensure their smooth operation and improve economic performance. _The missions are:_

**Missions**:
**Operational management**
- Responsible of the achievement of Sales targets set by the company.
- Motivates and challenges his teams on a daily basis by setting them specific goals and ensuring that these goals are achieved.
- Assists its teams in the actions to be carried out to improve the economic performance and profitability of the stores, and ensures the successful realization of these actions.
- Regularly visits its stores to take stock of the points of sale and to ensure that they are functioning in general.

**Business Activity Tracking**
- Guarantees the commercial policy of the company of its network of stores.
- Works closely with the various departments (Management, Visual Merchandising, Commercial Business Intelligence, Human Resources, Profit Protection and Marketing) and communicates their guidelines and action plans to store managers. He/she ensures that they are properly implemented at the point of sale.
- Ensures the proper functioning of the points of sale: the correct stock level, product allocation, the balance of the team structure, equipment, the delivery of consumables, ect.

**Analysis/Reporting**
- Collects daily performance of its Stores: turnover, margin, transformation rate, average basket.
- Analyzes them according to the internal and external environment of each store: competition, internal movements, cultural event, various events, ect.
- Prepares several reports summarising the results and proposing action plans and/or recommendations:

- Daily Performance Report
- Weekly performance report
- Monthly Operational Account Report
- Sends these reports to senior Retail management
- Ensures that pre-targeted shares are placed at the point of sale
- Conducts day-to-day competitor monitoring and ensures an uptick in the elements that may affect our company's operations.

**HR development**
- Participates in the recruitment of managers, in collaboration with the HR department: participation in collective recruitment sessions, individual physical interviews of managers, etc.
- As No. 1, he follows integration and develops the skills of store managers
- It helps them identify internal opportunities and routes training needs to the HR department to ensure internal mobility
- Monitors the salary budget of its stores
- Responsible of wage control and shrinkage.
- Reports on the employee turnover in his region to the HR department
- Organizes and conducts annual appraisals with its store managers

**HR/Legal**
- Ensures that the various legal rules in force and the recommendations of the HR department following HR audits / visits are complied with by the stores.
- Ensures the safety of goods and people in its stores
- In the event of an employee's sanction, he or she is the conduit to the legal department and may be required to conduct preliminary interviews in the event of advanced disciplinary proceedings.

**Expansion of the network**
- Prepares and follows the plans to open, expand and relocate stores in his region: budget, team structure, retro planning.
- Informs the management of potential locations for new locations
- Builds the store budget projects in collaboration with the Finance Department and the other departments involved.

**Technical Skills**:

- Good knowledge of markets and competitors
- At least 5 years' manager experience in a fast-paced retail environment
- Great experience in leading high volume stores
- Perfect mastery of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good knowledge of French, English and Dutch - written and oral
- Valid driver's license
