**What does this job entail?**:
Compliance is a crucial element in our corporate culture. It’s how we make sure** we are doing business in a fair, honest, and ethical manner**. It certifies we are **living up to the spirit of and following the very letter of all regulations**. It’s what you, as our Compliance advisor - Insurances - Financial markets, and your colleagues, keep an eye on. Both for KBC Insurances and KBC Bank, as well as for the other bank-insurers of the KBC Group.

The role of Compliance is becoming increasingly important because the regulations in Europe are becoming stricter and more complex. As the supervisor, you run increasingly high-performance checks. **As compliance advisor, you can count on a job with intellectual challenges, variety and responsibility.**

Together with your colleagues, you check that KBC is compliant with all regulations to do with insurances and financial market activities to guarantee the **protection of our insurance and investment clients**. This means that we:

- sell the right insurance and investment products to clients, taking into account their needs and desires, financial situation, knowledge, experience and investment goals.
- selling insurance and investment products under the correct terms and conditions and with adequate information regarding the characteristics, risks and cost price.

**What do we expect from you?**:

- You’re responsible throughout the entire KBC Group for the interpretation and **translation of national and European regulations into clear internal rules**. You closely follow up evolutions in these regulations.
- When drafting these rules, you examine the **specific circumstances** in which they need to be applied. For this, you advise your business stakeholders and participate in relevant projects.
- You keep the internal compliance rules, the internal procedures and the Group Compliance Rules all **up to date**.
- Together with the investigators from your team, you **check** whether regulations have been applied effectively and correctly. You interpret the results of the checks and formulate conclusions.
- You read marketing communications and publicity to check that the rules around marketing and insurance products are being respected.
- Together with your advisor colleagues, you make sure that the local Compliance teams for our entities outside Belgium correctly implement elements of the regulation.
- When new products or processes are developed, you provide** advice**, contributing to the **product approval process**.
- Through initiatives, you make sure that colleagues at KBC are kept informed of the regulations relating to insurances. You create and raise **awareness**.

**Your key strengths?**:

- You have a master’s degree, preferably in law or economy, and thorough **knowledge of the relevant regulations** (IDD, MiFID II, etc.).
- You speak and write fluent **Dutch and English**.
- You enjoy working with others in a constructive manner. You do this without losing sight of your own independence.
- You adapt easily and continue moving forward when situations change.
- You have no problem coming up with **pragmatic solutions.** Your advice is realistic and able to be implemented.
