**Je functie in het kort**:
Als scheepvaartbegeleider bedien je jouw sluizen en/of beweegbare bruggen. Je volgt al het scheepvaartverkeer op dat er passeert. Je begeleidt niet alleen de pleziervaart, maar ook de professionele binnenvaart. Aan jou de taak om dit waterverkeer vlot en veilig te laten verlopen. Daarvoor sta jij schippers met raad en daad bij. Zo zorg jij voor een betere mobiliteit in Vlaanderen, want iedere vracht op het water staat niet in de file op onze overvolle wegen. Als scheepvaartbegeleider-buffer werk je bovendien op verschillende standplaatsen, je vangt daar diensten op van collega's.
Je volgt ook dagelijks waterstanden en debieten op. Op basis van de gegevens die jij verzamelt, kan De Vlaamse Waterweg aan waterbeheersing doen. Zo beschermen we Vlaanderen én jouw familie en vrienden tegen droogte en wateroverlast.
Ook administratieve taken behoren tot jouw takenpakket. Je houdt registers bij over het afgehandelde scheepvaartverkeer. Want om het scheepvaartverkeer te monitoren, is het belangrijk om te weten wanneer welke boten en schepen bij jou gepasseerd zijn. Ook voor andere rapporten of om klachten te noteren, kunnen wij op jou rekenen.
Als er voor jouw brug of sluis (klein) groenonderhoud nodig is, dan sta jij hiervoor in.

Momenteel zijn er vacante plaatsen op de volgende standplaatsen: Aalst (2), Antwerpen, Avelgem (3), Bocholt (2), Brugge (7), Dendermonde (3), Dessel, Diepenbeek (2), Duffel, Geel, Genk (3), Gent (2), Geraardsbergen, Halle, Ham, Harelbeke (2), Hasselt (3), Herentals, Ieper, Kampenhout (2), Kluisbergen, Lanaken, Lommel, Lo-Reninge, Maldegem, Mechelen, Menen, Merelbeke (3), Mol (3), Nieuwpoort, Olen (2), Oudenaarde (3), Oudenburg (3), Rijkevorsel (9), Wielsbeke, Wijnegem (4), Willebroek, Zemst (10). Je wordt in het sollicitatieformulier bij je kandidaatstelling gevraagd om maximaal 2 standplaatsen op te geven waarvoor je wil solliciteren. Je komt enkel voor deze standplaatsen in aanmerking.
**Wie ben jij?**:
Je voldoet op 1 september 2024 aan de volgende voorwaarden:
- Je hebt minstens 2 jaar beroepservaring in het bedienen van kunstwerken en/of binnen de exploitatieprocessen van RIS en/of VTS.
- Je hebt een rijbewijs B (handgeschakeld).
