**RESPONSIBILITIES**
What you can expect:
- You will manage the group of Breeding Agronomists, executing OSR evaluation trials in Belgium, France and Poland.
- You will establish and maintain breeding trials for the purpose of evaluation, statistical analysis, and selection with the goal of developing hybrids that provide the highest return to growers.
- You will provide leadership and management to a team of Breeding Agronomists (3 FTE) in alle areas of human resources which includes coaching, employee development, performance management and day to day supervision and administration.
- You will maintain technical competency in agronomy and field trial equipment.
- You will act as a leader from innovation point of view.
- Managing breeding agronomists and optimizing resources while promoting a safe workplace belongs to your responsibilities.
- You will conduct and manage field trials ensuring high quality standards are maintained with the goal of producing seed and data for local and global breeding programs.
- You will manage this through trial and location planning, creating field trial protocols, field plans, randomizations and field books, management and agronomy of in season seed to harvesting activities.
- You are responsible for accurate record keeping and labeling, and statistical analysis of agronomic and quality data for trial reports.
- You are responsible for administrative tasks such as parcel declaration ('verzamelaanvraag'), fertilization declaration('mestbank aangifte'), lease contracts, quotes, etc.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- You are a flexible team player with excellent people management and problem-solving skills.
- You have minimum a Bachelor in Agriculture (with preferred specialization in Crop Science).
- You have experience in plant breeding, genetics, oilseeds rape agronomy, oilseed rape botany, pollen flow and genetic purity.
- You demonstrate a minimum of 8 years of experience as Field Trial Agronomist/Field Technician.
- You have a strong background in oilseed rape agronomy, statistical design, machinery operation, experimental techniques as well as genetics and plant breeding.
- Experience in digital phenotyping is an asset.
- You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English. French language skills are a plus.
- You have the ability to modify plans as required to minimize impact on data and production as situations arise.
- You are able to work independently as well as in a team either as a member or supervising coworkers.
- You show the ability to make quick and accurate decisions based on a combination of knowledge and experience to ensure that each aspect of the program is met in an efficient and timely manner.
