Lead Backend Developer

**Function**:
We're looking for a dynamic Lead Backend Developer to spearhead development projects for one of our client's real estate platforms. As a key figure in the technical team, you will coordinate closely with the Chief Technology Officer and take ownership of your role as the primary contact for backend development needs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with frontend leaders, business analysts, and import leads to enhance and expand the platform.
- Translate complex customer requirements into manageable, executable development tasks.
- Oversee the technical direction during the build-out phases of the platform, ensuring consistency and quality in code.
- Provide coaching and supervision to a diverse team of sourced developers.
**Role Challenges**:
- Uphold high standards in maintaining, running, and building the backend infrastructure.
- Ensure the backend systems are scalable and can adapt to future needs without compromising current operations.
**Technical Skills Required**:
- Proficient in backend development, with comprehensive experience in:
- Node.js, npm, SQL, TypeORM, TypeScript/JavaScript, Nest.js, Git, REST
- AWS technologies (Lambda, ECS, RDS, API Gateway, OpenSearch, ElastiCache, Cloudwatch, IAM)
- Red Hat Single Sign-On
- Previous experience with real estate or demand-supply platforms will be considered an asset.
- Proven ability to work effectively with offshore teams and in leadership roles.
**Professional Profile**:
- Must be fluent in Dutch and English.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead to meet future technical needs.
- Able to work in the main office in Leuven combined with teleworking
