To strengthen our **Medical Affairs team & capability**, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of **Head of Managed Access Programs (Early Access Programs/ Expanded Access Program), **based in **Europe,** preferably in one of our **HQ, Brussels (Belgium), Slough (UK), Monheim (Germany) offices.**
**UCB is committed to ensuring that patients with severe or life-threatening conditions for whom currently no satisfactory treatment alternative is available and who may benefit from an unauthorized or approved UCB product (outside of clinical trial or commercial access setting) with acceptable risks, can have access to product.**
**The key mandate of the Head of Managed Access Programs (also known internally as Access+) is to drive excellence in Access+ strategy and operationalization across UCB portfolio.**
**She/He will define the long-term ambition for Access+ strategy at UCB and implement the roadmap that will allow us to attain and sustain this ambition**
**She/He will be responsible to support the Access+ strategy development for each indication/ patient population and flawless operational execution of Managed Access Programs across UCB portfolio.**
**The role will report to the Head of Evidence Strategy & Managed Access Programs and will lead a small team dedicated to the Managed Access Programs capability.**
**You will** contribute** **by**:
- **Define the long-term ambition for Access+ strategy at UCB and implement the roadmap that will allow us to attain and sustain this ambition**:
- Build capability within UCB to address current and anticipated needs in Access+ in an end-to-end roadmap, setting priorities and plans to meet long-range objectives, encompassing strategic mindset and framework, processes, roles and responsibilities and core competencies
- Anticipate external changes and future needs in Access+ and evolve UCB capability accordingly to maintain its leadership; anticipate and embrace technology and digital impact
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of Policy and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Identify and address training needs and opportunities for colleagues working in Access+ to build individual competencies and organizational capability at UCB
- **
Provide internal expertise and advice to global asset & patient population teams as they develop and execute their Access+ Strategy to best enable patient value, medical objectives within business sustainability**:
In collaboration with Managed Access Program Committee (MAPC) chair, support the development and drive the implementation of Access+ Strategy for assigned indication(s)
- Ensure regular revision and update of Access+ strategies based on internal or external events, program challenges and risks (e.g. Supply Shortages, etc.)
- Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment on Access+ programs
- **Provide flawless operational execution of Managed Access Programs across UCB portfolio**:
- Provide ongoing management of Access+ programs, including maintenance of existing programs and implementation of new programs
- Actively manage allocation and budgets to ensure quality and timely delivery against timelines for implementing Access+
- Lead a small team dedicated to the Managed Access Programs capability
- Oversee vendors to ensure delivery of contracted services and service level agreements
- Collaborates closely with internal cross-functional colleagues, to track implementation and tactical execution of Access+

- PhD or M.D. (preferred)
- Robust pharmaceutical medicine education and knowledge through direct experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of managed access programs experience within the pharmaceutical sector, Including Compassionate Use Programs, Named Patient Access, as well as other company driven programs (e.g. early access authorization program ATU/AAP
- Strong Medical Affairs experience at global level in delivering Managed Access Program strategy, planning and execution to successfully support company priorities and our purpose to create value for patients
- Strong operational execution, including experience in clinical operations and operationalizing drug supply
- Disease area experience in rare diseases is strongly desired
