SHAPE is looking for an English Program Coordinator / Teacher in order to develop and provide English language courses and to test the Local Wage Rate (LWR) personnel at SHAPE.

Post Context:

- Reports to the ISS Branch Head. _
- Creates and Coordinates an English program and delivers all

English lessons with all sections of the Branch that the ISS Branch

deems necessary.
- Examines the English level of all LWR Staff on SHAPE arequested by J1 and/or the Branch Head.

Statement of Duties:
The incumbent carries out the following tasks:

- Develops curriculums for English courses, schemes of work and individual lessons, appropriate to the needs, interests, experience and existing knowledge of students.
- Prepares lessons for a range of classes.
- Is responsible for the management and placement testing of new students.
- Teaches lessons to a range of classes in accordance with students’ learning needs.
- Introduces relevant topics into the classroom.
- Marks and provides appropriate feedback on oral and written work.
- Creates teaching materials including audio and visual resources.
- Adapts syllabus to suit students’ needs.
- Organizes cultural activities to allow the practice and use of English in a natural environment.
- Encourages a positive and supportive learning environment within the classroom.
- Undertakes administrative tasks, such as keeping student registers and attendance records.
- Helps students improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills via individual and group sessions.
- Organizes and teaches specialist courses.
- Provides standardized testing for all students throughout the class.
- Tailors lessons to accommodate differences in learning style and speed.
- Monitors and supports the overall progress and development of students.
- Facilitates and encourages a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- Delivers online lessons if needed.
- Coordinates STANAG 6001 SLP exams with the SHAPE Language Testing Centre.
- Prepares students for STANAG 6001 SLP exams at all levels.
- Prepares students for English exams on the CEFR.
- Ensures level of English in LWR Job descriptions is appropriate.
- Provides assistance in administrative duties deemed necessary by the ISS Branch Head.
- Performs any other relevant duties that may be reasonably be required by the chain of command.

Responsibilities:
The incumbent reports to the ISS Branch Head.

Available Guidance and Equipment:
The incumbent will receive education and examination guidance directly from the Principal Examiner at the SHAPE Language Testing Centre.

Diversity and Range of Duties:
The incumbent’s duties will encompass providing a large range of English lessons and assistance to members of the ISS Branch and to LWR Employees on SHAPE as deemed necessary by the Branch Head.

The incumbent may also be called upon to assist in administrative duties.

Working Environment:
Normal office working environment.

Qualifications:

- Language Qualifications : listening, speaking, reading, writing (0 = Aucune compétence, 1 = Compétence de survie, 2 = Compétence fonctionnelle, 3 = Compétence professionnelle, 4 = Compétence experte):

(b) French: 1 1 0 0

- Education/Training:

- Post-Secondary Education in Teaching English as a Second Language coupled with at 2 years teaching experience in a variety of levels from Beginner to Proficiency level, or Higher Secondary Education with 6 years of pertinent experience or Lower Secondary Education with 10 years of pertinent experience. _

The Incumbent will also have training and experience in preparing students for STANAG / NATO SLP language exams.
- Professional experience:

- Experience in making course curriculums for all levels of English.
- Experience preparing students for the CEFR exams.
- Experience preparing students for the STANAG 6001 exams.
- Experience teaching business and technical English.
- Experience in obtaining teaching material.
- Experience in developing own teaching material.
- Other qualifications:
Essential:

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of online teaching platforms.
- Experience in working with Microsoft Office suite.
- Discreet and able to deal with personal and sensitive information.
- Flexibility to provide different services that may be needed in a large branch.
- Able to plan ahead and develop a teaching schedule for a variety of different lessons.
- Able to work in a team environment.

Desirable:

- Previous teaching experience in a multi-national environment.
- Experience in NATO.
- Knowledge of NATO.
- Knowledge of google classroom.
- Knowledge of French language.
