UITP (International Association of Public Transport) is a passionate champion of sustainable urban mobility and is the only worldwide network to bring together all public transport stakeholders and all sustainable transport modes. We have more than 1,900 member companies coming from over 100 countries. Our members are public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, research institutes and the public transport supply and service industry.

We are currently looking for a:
EU Communications Junior Manager (position based in Brussels)

The person will join our dynamic department in charge of European Affairs and lobby activities towards EU institutions and represent the interests of our European members. Under the responsibilities of the Deputy Director Europe, the person will have the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on all EU-related communications and PR work of the Department
- Take ownership of a comprehensive communications strategy, lead major communications campaigns across all available channels, keep relevant websites and databases updated
- Support direct EU advocacy activities, including regular meetings with EU officials, presence within the EU bubble, and efficient collaboration with third-parties and other sectoral associations
- Draft, edit and disseminate all EU related publications, including newsletters, position papers and policy letters
- Ensure the Department’s participation in annual EU thematic weeks (incl. EU Week of Regions & Cities, EU Green Week, Urban Mobility Days), and seek possibilities of engaging in other external events
- Support the organisation and coordination of regular EU events in collaboration with other UITP staff where required
- Contribute to developing high-quality policy research and policy documents, including reports, analysis, articles, minutes and briefing notes
- Take lead on project management within the Department, and manage relevant project management process as foreseen by UITP internal policies
- Coordinate all general communication activities with the UITP Communications Department, and ensure a good visibility of the Department both internally and externally

**Skills**:

- A prior communications, policy and/or advocacy experience with European Union institutions is a plus; alternatively, a prior experience in EU affairs, EU communications or with EU stakeholder organizations of at least 2 years
- Excellent oral and written level of English, with additional oral and written proficiency in two other European languages
- Ability to develop engaging content for UITP websites, articles, press releases, newsletters, social media on EU advocacy, as well as to manage various communication tools (wordpress, MailChimp, Sharepoint) and social media assets
- Proven record of producing meaningful policy, communications or thematic deliverables, including publications, press materials or conference engagements
- Knowledge of the EU political landscape, related legislative processes and institutional settings (favourably including transport and mobility policies)
- A good understanding of advocacy work and EU-related sectoral and membership-led organisations is highly requested
- Knowledge of project management processes and ability to manage different types of projects and activities
- Able to function, communicate and flourish within a group of highly-motivated, fast-paced and results-driven advocacy experts
- Able to work autonomously and on multiple assignments
