**Senior**
**Director, Operations, Country Offices Management** for our International Secretariat to help us achieve our ambitious goals, and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.
**Location: Flexible in one of our WWF International Hubs - **Vienna (Austria), Woking (UK), Zeist (The Netherlands), Gland (Switzerland), Nairobi (Kenia) and Singapore.
**Mission of the department**
To ensure operational excellence in effective and efficient functioning of the Country Offices Management Division (COM) and WWF International managed offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & North Africa. To achieve effective management of processes and systems needed for WWF to deliver conservation impact and operate efficiently in these regions.
**Major Functions**
The Senior Director of Operations provides leadership to the Country Offices Management Division (COM) operations teams to ensure the effective and efficient operational health of all WWF Internationally managed Country Offices in Congo Basin, Eastern and Southern Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & North Africa in fulfillment of their individual Strategic Objectives, WWF values/ Network Standards, and policies/procedures of WWF International.
The Senior Director, Operations is accountable for the delivery, development and efficient management of divisional operational processes, working collaboratively with the Senior Director, Accountability and Executive Director, People and Culture to create and implement a regionalized, strategic operations plan.
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief, Country Offices, the Senior Director, Operations will be required to be part of solving organizational complex problems, identify trends and innovative solutions, interpret business issues, test strategies, and recommend solutions that are in the best interest of COM’s operations strategy. In collaboration with the Regional Directors, Regional COOs and other Regional and Senior Leadership team members, this role will serve as a strategic leader and thought partner and will facilitate strong collaboration, learning and communications in relation to operational excellence, across the 4 regions and interact with the WWF Network to ensure strong and credible Country Offices.
**Major Duties and responsibilities**
- Provide leadership, strategic guidance and direction to the regional operations teams and others to ensure alignment and compliance with WWF International policies, procedures, review and approval processes (including QA) and flow of communication to and from the COM Division
- Spearhead and/or partner with Chief, Country Offices on special projects. Plan, lead, manage or provide oversight and reporting of an ongoing portfolio of projects to ensure a single view of the division’s projects.
- Elevate operations. Seeking continuous improvement, review, improve and set the strategic vision for operational processes, workflow and tasks to deliver world-class optimized and robust operations that are scalable and sustainable; incorporating agility and flexibility as and when required, balancing risk-mitigation and/or informed risk acceptance.
- Provide clear expectations on KPI framework and coordinate divisional level operational analytics to continually assess the performance and capability of the regions, identify operational trends, risks or issues and support regional leadership in driving changes in structures, systems, processes or people required to address any gaps and weaknesses identified.
- Develops and maintains excellent cross-functional and cross-business unit relationships with internal stakeholders to develop and implement global, cross-functional improvements and to deliver global strategies, plans, processes, and procedures including cross-adoption of best practices.
