**Education required**: You are regularly **enrolled** in a Master in: Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, Machine learning, Data Science, Life Sciences, or similar field in an Educational Establishment located in Europe.
**Language requirement**: You are fluent in English, French is optional
**Expected start date**: To be determined, most likely beginning of 2024
**Duration**:Minimum 4 months, ideally 6 months in full time
**Work arrangements**:Hybrid (2 or 3 days/ week on site)
**Requisite**: The internship must be mandatory & done in the framework of the curriculum, for which an agreement must be signed between GSK, the student and the Educational Establishment.
**Remuneration**: according to Belgian legal requirements, the internship will not be paid. However, some expenses will be reimbursed.

**What will you do? **Where does the role fit?**:
- You will work within a vaccine Bioinformatics team who develops bioinformatics workflows and delivers analytical solutions for R&D
- You will work with bioinformatics tools applied on sequencing data in the context of vaccine development.
- You will work closely with your supervisor and engage in good coding practices, such as version control, code reviews, and documentation
- You will have a chance to present your results internally to a larger group of data scientists
**What are we looking for?**:
- A lively interest in R&D and biopharma industry
- Willingness to learn and curiosity for out-of-the-box solutions
- Good programming skills
- Analytical and logical thinking with good organization skill
- Open and proactive personality to work within an international team and a global company
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Basic knowledge about bioinformatics methods and biological data
- Experience with programming languages, such as R, Python or Perl
- Experience with good coding practices, such as how to use git
