Strategic PMO Director

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB**:
To deliver significant value to the EMEA Region by developing the Strategic Programme Management Office as a resource for the VP EMEA Strategy & Operations and the Leadership Team (ESLT) by:
- Supporting the VP EMEA Strategy & Operations and the Leadership Team (ESLT) in identifying and leading key strategic multi
- functional/cross regional priorities and projects as well as coordinating the ESLT around these priorities
- Ensuring programme / project objectives align to strategy and delivered the desired strategic benefit.
- Lead key strategic projects for ESO and EMEA
- Manage PMO team and create continual Talent Development opportunities for identified high potential talents via short and mid-term Project Management assignments supported by the Strategic Programme Office.
**MAIN ACTIVITIES/TASKS**:
**Drive the ESLT agenda ensure partnership and alignment with all relevant stakeholders**
- Close collaboration with the ELT PMO Lead and Opco PMOs
- Lead and coordinate the ESLT and ensure alignment with key objectives as well as execution and follow ups throughout the organization
**EMEA Strategic Context**
Act as the catalyst/custodian of J&J EMEA strategic review for the Senior Leadership Teams through
- Facilitation and leading of the review of departments/TA objectives and key strategies
- Facilitation and leading of the development of key strategic hypotheses
- Facilitation and leading of the identification of key strategic priorities and projects
- Ensure alignment with business planning processes
- Drive G&O and Long Range Financial Plan, as well as Business Planning for ESO
**Portfolio, Program & Project Management**
Providing support to the Senior Leadership Team in:
- The selection of strategic priorities and initiatives.
- The conversion of strategic priorities into actionable projects with clear value-based outputs / deliverables.
- The articulation of linkages and interdependencies of key strategic projects to maximise value delivered and implemented.
- The provision of independent, objective assessments of progress and the impact of key strategic projects on the business.
- Driving effective coordination of resources through information and knowledge of issues at project, programme and strategic levels.
- Creating flexibility in resourcing requirements.
**Delivering Value**
The SPMO will deliver significant value to the J&J ESO Senior Leadership Team by:
- Ensuring optimal resource allocation linked to current priorities
- Optimising co-ordination across functional areas and regions
- Ensuring consistency and integrity of programme/project implementation and reporting.
**People Management and Development**
- To ensure that all personnel working within the PMO have appropriate and documented skills and training to undertake their roles.
- To recruit and retain the best available talent for the ESO/EMEA organization, with potential to develop them and export them back to other ESO teams or opcos
- To ensure appropriate lead and back-up for all on-going projects.
- To undertake at least annual performance appraisals and training reviews of all direct reports.
- By direct example, encourage close collaboration with company and external partners.
**Qualifications**:
**ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**:
- Business and/or scientific degree. Advanced degree preferred.
- Broad and deep understanding of J&J business and business processes.
- Ability to work cross-region/cross-function.
- Must have a pragmatic approach to solving complex problems with emphasis on implementation and delivery to quality standards and timelines.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop cross-functional partnerships in a virtual environment.
- Ability to balance ambiguity and risk with project delivery.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of driving a multi-cultural, virtual team.
- Knowledge of Project/Programme and Change Management methodologies is a plus
- Awareness of and adherence to Johnson and Johnson Credo values, SOPs, Policies and Guidelines.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
**EXPERIENCE**:
- Business Leader with successful track record and strong upward potential.
- Significant and demonstrable experience to deliver complex projects in a multi-cultural, functional, matrix and regional environment.
- Significant and demonstrable commercial experience at international and operating company level.
- Significant and demonstrable experience of effective team management, including virtual teams and including internal and external partners.
- Experience of effective delivery to and working with Board Level Executives.
**JOB LOCATION**:
The role is EMEA based and will involve travel across the EMEA region.
The role holder will be based in his/her current country of residence provided easy access to travel/transportation is available
