For our Antwerp based HQ, we are looking for a Health and Safety advisor who will be responsible for implementing and carrying out safety procedures within the workplace by providing advice to Azelis, the company management and workers with respect to environment, health, and safety to ensure that a high level of compliance is reached & maintained. You will serve as a central point of contact for Azelis business on all well-being related topics and be part of the HR team to support on topics such as training, sustainability, employee engagement and HR projects. You will report to the HR Business Partner Corporate.

A Little Bit More About The Role

1. Health, Safety and Well-being
- Develop and administer health, safety and environment plans and processes to mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace, providing employees with a safe and healthy working environment in line with the legislative requirements, business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines and policies.
- Act as the Safety / Prevention Officer for the Corporate Office, you will fulfil the statutory tasks of a Prevention Advisor in an internal prevention service with the support of Mensura.
- Act as the Secretary of the unit prevention committee (CPBW) and ensure that all duties imposed by this legal role are carried out impartially and in a timely manner at all times.
- Ensure that reports required by law are formulated in line with the business needs. You are also responsible for ensuring that these action plans are achieved through proper communication, delegation and follow-up of required actions.
- Capture and utilize health and wellbeing data to monitor and report on issues
- Create awareness within the organization concerning Health & Safety including communication to staff about important Health & Safety issues.
- Coordinate the training of First Aiders, Fire Wardens and Evacuation Stewards as well as assure its operability - according to legal obligations.
- Act as an ambassador to promote diversity, equity and inclusion

2. Training
- In collaboration with your HR colleagues, you set up a process to track legal obligations regarding training days and hours from our employees and provide a quarterly report on the status.

3. Employee Engagement
- Drive the Employee Satisfaction Survey for our Corporate Office.
- Set up work groups to roll out concrete action plans linked to the results of the Survey.
- Connect with managers and team leads to implement concrete action plans and improvement initiatives.

4. Sustainability
- Collects data and performs statistical analysis of HR -related sustainability indicators for current programs such as Ecovadis and Tennaxia.

5. HR Support
- Provide support to HR projects and any other HR adminstrative support as required.

Qualification & Skills
- Have a certification of Prevention Advisor at least level 1 and or relevant professional experience
- Bachelor or Master Degree
- Analytical mindset with eye for detail
- Able to manage projects autonomously
- Have strong stakeholder management skills, including listening and coaching skills
- High degree of social competence and excellent communication skills required;
- Pro-active and hands-on: quick to deal with problems and tackle them;
- Fluent English & Dutch a must-have (both verbal and written communication)
- IT literate (MS Office).
