For our Transformation & Sustainability department at our office in Brussels (near to Central Station and subway, see the map here) we are looking for a **Strategic Studies Officer** (M/F/x).

**Job**
**purpose**:
You will serve as an ‘internal advisor’, helping Fluxys management make informed decisions by providing insights and recommendations. You will drive internal strategic studies, monitor trends in the energy markets and keep abreast of external studies and publications likely to have an impact on Fluxys’ market position. You will contribute to Fluxys’ annual strategy update, which is presented to the C-suite and shareholders, by developing content on the latest market developments and trends in Fluxys’ strategic positioning, while also contributing insights from across the organisation.

**Your**
**responsibilities**:

- Monitor trends, findings of external studies, conferences and publications relating to energy markets and the energy transition, distil insights and synthetise them into crisp messages and presentations/documents
- Drive ad hoc internal research to improve our understanding of the context in which Fluxys is evolving (e.g., developments in the hydrogen market, carbon capture technologies)
- Manage projects and relations with external consultants contributing to strategic and prospective studies in which Fluxys is involved
- Contribute to the annual strategy update process:

- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality strategic notes that focus on the market context, show an understanding of Fluxys’ positioning and define the company’s strategic ambition. This involves gathering and structuring all relevant information into a coherent narrative, distilling messages and helping to prepare shareholder seminars
- Lead the alignment process with other stakeholders providing input for the strategic process (e.g., setting strategic objectives, planning investments)
- Act as a true ambassador for Fluxys and carry out Fluxys’ vision and strategy by representing Fluxys in the outside world, for example by serving as a speaker at external events or attending conferences

- Master’s degree in engineering, business engineering, economics or equivalent field
- At least five years of relevant professional experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and writing skills. Ability to write effective documents and presentations
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Capacity to synthesise complex discussions, build a high-level picture and formulate decision-ready recommendations
- Proven process management skills (ability to deliver concrete results by established deadlines)
- Natural ability to interact with and challenge key stakeholders across different departments
- Good presentation skills to represent Fluxys externally
- Ability to take a structured approach combined with the flexibility to adapt to a changing environment
- Very good command of Dutch, French, and English
