For our M&A and Financial Advisory department at our office in Brussels (near to Central Station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a **M&A and Financial Advisory Officer** (M/F/x).

The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Financial Advisory team is responsible for providing Fluxys Group management with financial analysis and valuation of M&A and business development projects, including energy transition projects related to hydrogen, carbon capture and ammonia. The team is also responsible for monitoring the long-term business plans of our existing assets to maximise the value of our investments while seizing growth opportunities and identifying risks.

As M&A and Financial Advisory Officer, you will play a key role in the valuation and risk analysis of existing investments and new projects and of the performance of affiliates following their acquisition. You will develop financial models and will draft investment presentations. You will work on various projects: M&A/business development projects in Belgium, Europe and elsewhere, covering new and existing Fluxys activities (e.g. hydrogen, energy transition, carbon capture). You will be involved in every phase of a project: opportunity assessment, structuring, development, construction/implementation, operation and continuous improvement of the existing investment.

**Your**
**responsibilities***:

- You will create and manage complex financial models, and will calculate the return on investment and/or the purchase price of the various companies in connection with projects involving M&A/business development/new activities
- You will lead regulatory and financial due diligence for projects, check data from other streams and identify value drivers, the main risks and opportunities for optimisation
- You will work within a cross-functional project team and actively participate in discussions about the non-financial aspects of projects (commercial, technical, tax, legal, etc.) to incorporate the risks and opportunities identified in your analyses
- You will be involved in business development and acquisition projects as well as existing investments, conducting analyses to maximise the value of a business
- You will spotlight improvements to generate value in terms of profitability, financing, capital structure, cash management and other business plan optimisations
- You will create presentations for management and the Board of Directors
- Following transactions or for existing investments, you will ensure proper financial monitoring of affiliates and assess the performance of projects, and so will track business valuation and return on investment, involving cash flow projections, the introduction and review of business plans, business modelling and sensitivity analyses

- You hold a master's degree in finance, economics, business management or similar
- You have at least three years' relevant experience in advisory or corporate M&A, corporate finance, private equity or business development, as well as expertise in business valuation and modelling
- You demonstrate experience and a deep understanding of corporate finance, valuation techniques and financial analysis (modelling, business plan analysis, capital costings, etc.)
- You possess strong presentation skills, have good powers of persuasion and the ability to listen carefully so that you can tailor your message to your audience, ensuring a significant impact
- You navigate changing and uncertain organisational conditions and adapt accordingly with agility and foresight
- You are proactive, seize opportunities, develop concrete proposals and take action to achieve business goals
- You are known for your excellent analytical skills and ability to handle several projects at the same time
