Within this context, there is a need to combine the technology (cold chain, monitoring, Mechanical stress) expertise with the network design in order to:

- Move from a global expertise responsibility to a global effective business responsibility,
- fully accountable of the E2E distribution solution delivered
- Be permanently aligned with the operations of E2E distribution (from Site to 1st trade payer) and manufacturing
- Set and lead the best combination of E2E cold chain solution, transport mode and route to market or site to site
- Build, maintain links and influence the collaboration model between Rx and Vx

The impact of this role is broadly transversal and include activities in R&D, Manufacturing, Vx & Rx Distribution, Medical and governmental affairs, quality, validation and Regulatory activities.

The ambition is to deliver sustainable impact on Service, E2E lead times, Inventory level and cost to serve to support profitable growth.

**Job Purpose**:

- Define Distribution strategies and roadmap to reduce cost & lead time by leveraging GSK assets (Vaccines Network, GMS Network and Supplier Partner)
- Perform Network design and distribution channel to optimize the total cost of distribution
- Develop, improve and support new Cold Chain solutions (active and passive), primary container integrity (shock, vibration) and mono/multi modal solutions (Air, Sea, Rail, Road)
- Assess and review cold chain local solution proposals for change/improvement/remediation projects
- Develop E2E Cold Chain solution in collaboration with GMS & with the support of our supplier base
- Perform risk assessment, route qualification (distribution cold chain) and escalate accordingly
- Lead internal/external benchmark and scientific watch
- Lead and manage complex Cold Chain & Distribution projects
- Provide expertise support for troubleshooting and continuous improvement
- The collaboration relationship with GMS and Logistic Services Providers

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cold chain management topics.
- Establish rules, standards, processes, targets and guidance documents (e.g. SOP, Validation documents, Technical Reports)
- Mentor and coach local expert, support development and delivery of training and communication materials (internally and externally)
- Act as reference and support sites/MPU during audit L2, L3 and L4 for cold chain management.
- Assess and review local cold chain proposals for change/improvement/remediation projects
- Develop Distribution vision, Warehouse network, distribution model and channels (including Secondary distribution oversight and all direct deliveries to our final customer):

- Design the distribution model to improve efficiency, cycle time, working capital and cost
- Define strategy to take full benefits of vendor capabilities.
- Define strategy to ensure distribution capacity availability to support GSK Vx Revenue Growth
- Leverage Pharma expertise on logistic solution and negotiate with GMS a service level agreement for the secondary distribution execution
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (GSK Vx Sites, LSP, suppliers and GSK GMS) for cold chain and network logistics projects
- Determine Optimization areas of the distribution network configuration and processes:

- Improve Cost savings through standardization, outsourcing, network/supplier changes, contract renegotiations together with procurement
- Responsible for the deployment of the network strategy for the primary distribution, secondary distribution oversight executed by GMS, the whole distribution channels for our direct deliveries to the final customer i.e. potentially implement HUBs, MMWs, Cross-dock warehouses
- Drive network in terms of performance management, capacity planning, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with logistics leaders and operations leadership to implement the changes to the transportation and warehouse network
