Sr. Manager, Global Marketing Communications

**The job**:
As our new **Sr Manager, Global Marketing Communications**, you will lead a team of 7 people within our Microbiology Division (MBD) to develop winning marketing communication strategies for our Clinical Microbiology, Collection & Transport (C&T) and Industrial markets. This will include the planning, development and implementation of global customer communications strategies and programs for new and existing products and solutions.
You will work closely with the Commercial global, regional & country organizations to understand communication needs, promotional and sales tool priorities and will own the global communication master materials.
Within the role there will be a strong focus on driving digital marketing efforts, including: effective lead generation and multi-touch nurturing activities; website content management; plus blog, message and collateral development; advertising; and tradeshows.
This is a role for a strong leader that will enable you to develop and strengthen the capability and culture of MBD’s Global Marketing Communications team and lead a significant upgrade of strategic marketing capability, marketing communication skills and thinking across all of MBD.
We are offering the role as **fully remote (working from home), based anywhere in Europe**. Some international travel - up to 25% per annum - will be required, including overnight stays.
**What will you do?**
- Operational management of the global marketing communications team, leading their growth, development and transformation to drive a shift to greater customer-centricity, ownership and accountability
- Lead and coordinate the creation, development and execution of all marketing communication activities and operational plans, thereby supporting the division’s revenue and growth ambitions
- Development of all global advertising master material, ensuring all material is fully aligned with Company branding and value proposition, as well as internal and external guidelines, especially regarding Regulatory Affairs and Legal
- Drive alignment of communication activities to key strategic and tactical priorities and develop team expertise in selecting and implementing effective communication strategies with regards to customer reach
- Be responsible for critical metrics measuring return on investment of activities; responsible for providing clear dashboards and analyses to assist in selection of the most appropriate communication channels
- Act as divisional point of contact for press and external media
- Build strong external and internal relationships with key partners and participate in customer and business-related events
- Accountable for Marketing Communications spend globally
- Drive continual process improvements in the team and ensure all projects are run efficiently and effectively
- Lead engagement with all external agencies and service providers, ensuring message consistency across all communication platforms, including website
- **Who we are looking for**:
- An experienced people manager, capable of leading by influence as well as direct authority
- Demonstrates drive and leadership skills sufficient to lead organizational transformation and capable of defining a vision for the future of the team
- Extensive experience as a Marketing Communications Manager (or similar), with a strong background in developing and deploying effective and target-group-tailored B2B communication strategies and campaigns - both online and offline
- Extensive experience designing, launching, and measuring digital marketing campaigns that generate, nurture, and convert leads in complex B2B buying cycles. Experience with marketing automation programs, such as Eloqua or Marketo
- Proficient in SEO, SEM, Social Media, EDM and Content Writing
- Have the personal authority, intuition for business and interpersonal skills needed to work in an international matrix organization on peer level with Senior Management, Corporate Marketing Leaders and Country Leaders, and influence at this level
- Capable of understanding and working with basic business data, critical metrics and dashboards in order to measure performance
- Familiarity with the Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Microbiology industries would be helpful
- Comfortable working in a global environment, supporting various regions and commercial activities, with a preference for an individual who has worked/lived in different regions
- Experience handling outside consultants and agencies
- Fluent in English, additional languages of benefit
- Willing and able to travel internationally - up to 25% per annum - including overnight stays
